My hobby is indexing and preserving family records for future generations. I am an avid cemetery hunter, this comes from spending my childhood roaming cemeteries near where I grew up. I have a digital camera and love to use it for the purpose of giving people from far away the opportunity to see the graves of their ancestors that may not be able to due to long distances. Our nation was built upon the backs of these common people we are adding to this site. They should always be remembered. |
(I will gladly transfer management of memorials to the family members upon request, however, I WILL ALWAYS RETAIN MANAGEMENT OF MY FAMILY AND ANCESTORS.)
UPDATE: Please use the edit tab and the suggest a correction link to request a transfer or a correction. I will no longer honor requests that are sent directly to my email address as this requires too much time and research. Please also include information as to how the memorial that you want transferred is related to you.

|Paul Cooper||Needed corrections for the Snodgrass Cemetery|
I'm writing to request that you make two changes in your information on the Snodgrass Cemetery in White County, TN.
(1) the person currently identified as "Natie" should be identified as "Notie."
(2) The listing for Helen Jane Snodgrass Lansden (1875 - 1962) as being buried in the Snodgrass Cemetery is an error. She is interred in the Cookeville, TN Cemetery, next to her husband, D.L. Lansden.
Notie Lenora (Snodgrass) Fancher and Helen Jane (Snodgrass) Lansden were the two oldest daughters of my great-grandparents, Henry Clay Snodgrass, Sr. and his first wife, Ammie Rachel Cope.
The Snodgrass Cemetery in White County is on land that was, at one time, the Snodgrass family home. The cemetery initially held the remains of the two Snodgrass children, Kate and Florence, both of whom died while young. Notie (Snodgrass) Fancher died a few days after giving birth to a young daughter, who was also named, Notie, and following the burial of his wife next to her mother and sisters, Frank T. Fancher constructed the concrete block wall that currently serves to somewhat protect and to delineate the small cemetery area.
Thanks for the updates! I do appreciate it.

Sorry for the delay in answering you. I'm looking into it further. The birth and death dates aren't quite what I have but I'm going to research a little more before I say they aren't. Thanks for trying to track them down! Kim

Thank you! I was copying and pasting and then started pasting the wrong mother in and didn't realize it until it was too late. That won't happen again! I'll work on it over the next few days.

Thanks you all the work you have done in the Sparta area. I appreciate that you will take the time to list the graves of babies and children that die you. Many do not list them. Without your work I would have never found this child. Thanks for the transfer

Very curious. You would, indeed, think that the VA Graves Division would make sure before cranking out a bronze like that.
This is the second Union Vet in my tree that some well-meaning but uninformed descendant has marked as a Confederate. And they always get angry when you tell them the truth! :)
Which daughter are you descended from? I descend through his son, Henry Logan Cain Pippin (1869-1916). Cain Pippin's daughter, Blonnie, was my maternal grandmother. She actually abandoned my mother at the age of two (and she was given up for adoption), along with her older sister Frances, but they reunited with her later in life. I actually knew her throughout my childhood as my "Granny."
Do you live in middle Tennessee or elsewhere?
