I'm the historian for the First Congregational Church of Norwich and the city cemeteries historian for the Norwich Historical Society. I also serve as a board member for the Connecticut Gravestone Network, and the Maplewood Cemetery. Researching and studying cemeteries, gravestones, death and burial traditions has been my passion for many years. I am fascinated by the art, spirituality and human history. Burial customs run deep within any society or culture and, for those who understand them, provide incite as to how people untimately relate to and find their place in this life experience.|

Dave Thank You for taking the time and efforts to take and upload the photos of the Laskowski family headstones. Many of the family members live out of state and will very much appreciate your doing that. Thanks again. Terri

Thank You so very much for taking the time and effort to take the photo of my grandmother Minnie C. Hunt. You are so very kind to do this.
Thanks so much. You added tons of "gravy" to those memorials - my favorite edits! :)

Aloha e Dave,
Was over at Oʻahu Cemetery today. Had looked up your family on find a grave to see if any needed photos and found that Richard Crocker Oat (1857-1856) and John Middleton Oat (1853-1913) did not have photos, so checked with the office and they have no record of either of them being buried there. Also checked across the street at Nuʻuanu Memorial Park, just in case, and no record of them there either. That cemetery wasnʻt incorporated until 1949, well after either Richard and Johnʻs dates of death. Thought you would want to know this... if you have any updated info on where either of them are buried let me know and I will try to get a photo.
Dave -- Just a short note to say Thank you. The recent Bliss family photos are very appreciated. Shari

|Northern Neighbors||photo requests @ Yantic|
Dave - not sure you if you were contacted about two requests you had claimed but added problem reports to. I think I can help direct you as they both have gravestones.
1) Amanda Fisher - it is a flat stone in the Wm and Martha Bliss lot, which you also just claimed a photo request for. Not sure if you will see it with our new snow but it is near the cope around the lot.
2) Jared and Cornelia Dennis stone is between Charles W Manwaring & family and Egbert & Ferdinand Bassett. It is an upright red or dark pink modern stone that has DENNIS on the face (Jared and Cornelia are listed on the sides. It also has a pitched top
The two memorials are actually not too far away from each other given the size of the cemetery.
Hope this helps. Stay warm!
