I have been interested in Genealogy for quite a few years. I stumbled upon Find A Grave when I was using Ancestry.com and decided that this was something I would enjoy doing. So, my latest hobby was born. I enjoy going to cemeteries and taking photos to upload to this site. Others have done the same for me. It means the world to me to be able to see the grave sites of those who came before me.

Through research I have discovered that about 17 or so generations back on my father's side, I have 2 Princes of Wales and a King of Wales in my lineage.

Recently I connected with a distant cousin through this site and was able to find out some amazing things about my father's family.

I am researching the Ross family of Shubert, Nebraska primarily. I am also interested in the Parent family of Ascension Parish, Louisiana as well.

"The Chosen"

We are the chosen. In each family there is one (or more) who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes (hopefully) have at least one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves.

RE: Photo request for Thomas Proudfit
I've only ever been able to photograph in small cemeteries and haven't had to deal with management. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Thank you again!

Photo request for Thomas Proudfit
Thank you for your message but if it's too difficult (lighting issues inside the mausoleum) please don't worry. I actually thought he had a headstone. Your efforts are very much appreciated!!

Threlfall/Giffen
Hi Joy,
Thanks so much for the Threlfall/Giffen photos at Casa Bonita.
Whenever I used to go to Stockton Rural I passed Casa Bonita and always wondered what it was like inside. I should have gone in and looked around. I am home in AZ now and don't get there as much as I used to.
Thanks again,
John

Mary Jane Pollard
Joy,
Thanks for taking and posting the photo for Mary Jane. Also, thanks for finding her husband Clyde's burial place and adding his photo. I have been searching for him but was looking for Joe H. Pollard as was stated on Mary Jane's death certificate. Joe must have been a nickname. Search solved.

Thanks again,
Michael Mussinan
