A bit about me:|
I'm a first-generation Californian whose ancestors were among the earliest founders and patriots of the great country that became the United States of America.
A distant cousin, Edgar J. Bullard, once wrote, "To preserve details about our ancestors from wasting records and fast-decaying monuments is the privilege and the meed of those who compile family histories." I couldn't agree more.
I've been a serious genealogist since 1994. Some here at Find a Grave insist that Find a Grave is not a genealogical tool. The rest of us know that it IS a useful genealogical tool (generally), like it or not. As such, I believe that memorials should contain accurate information. If I manage one that needs correction, just send me an edit request or contact me and I'll fix it.
I am not a memorial hoarder. I am always willing to transfer memorials for individuals that are not in my own family tree to someone else who is related. You need not be within the four-generation direct line guideline for me to transfer a memorial to you.

|Chris Enright Snyder||Gage in Maplewood in Marlborough|
I'm looking back at some older entries into Maplewood Cemetery in Marlborough, MA, that I've put in.
I see that you had added George E. A. Gage before me in 2009. Then I added him again, not seeing yours I guess.
Do you want to take all the info I put in for him and add it to yours, since you were first?
Then I'll delete my entry.
Or do you want to do it the other way around?

You are most welcome.
I usually check to see if the person submitting changes has connections to other relatives or people with the same name.

Well, it took me a little while to figure this out, but I think the problem is that I am not the manager of the second William Linton's profile. And, while I did receive your email message to me I didn't receive the edits that you wrote about. So, there is a third party involved. I just happened upon the duplicates in my research yesterday. I'm sorry.

You're very welcome. I wish I could have had better news for you.
Soli Deo Gloria

Hi Eliza: You're welcome. I've had about 100 pictures for about 3 years, but couldn't download them to Find A Grave because the pictures were too big and I couldn't figure out how to reduce the format. I posted them on Facebook instead. Apparently Facebook downsized them, which enabled me to resave them and download them to Findagrave. Kind of a roundabout way to get them posted, but whatever works is good for all of us. My husband gave me another camera which seems to automatically keep picture size down, so I'll be going back and taking more pictures as time permits.

The following is a link to a newspaper article about John Wilbert Gilligan. It includes some additional information you could add to his memorial. He was in the 129th Infantry, for example.

I added headstone photo
|RLWirtz||RE: Nancy Carolyne Roper BURIAN|
If you look closely you'll see that Nancy's marker is in the lower left corner of the photo. I wanted to capture her marker with that of her parents.
I went ahead and uploaded a photo of just her marker alone hoping that will help avoid any future confusion.
