Beth (Jorgensen) Sparrow living in Polk County, Nebraska. Have photos and information on the following surnames: My father's line: Hanks, Fields, Jorgensen, Foster, Lindsay in Nebraska, Illinois, Germany and Denmark. |
My mother's line: Seggerman, Regnier, Junker, Michels, Barber, Sickmon in Nebraska and Illinois, Germany, France, and back to England thru Mayflower passengers.
Have photos and some information on my husband's family: His father's line: Sparrow, Foresman, Richart, Hubbard from Illinois and back east. Currently trying to gather records for my husband's Richart line back to the Mayflower.
His mother's line: Patterson, Thompson, Waterman, Smith and Krieg from Illinois and eastern states.
I also have researched my step-mother-in-law's family: Smith, Steward, Flick, Hill, Hughes, Whitacre, Cross and Glass from mainly Illinois, Indiana and east.
Please see my virtual cemeteries for specific relatives in these lines, and please contact me if you are related to any of these families. I like getting in touch with distant cousins.
Let me know if you want me to transfer someone so you can add more info to a relative. If someone is not my relative, I will usually transfer. Please state your relation in your requests for transfer.
Polk county cemetery info came from the cemetery or from the city/cemetery records. Polk county marriage info comes from the clerk's office at the county courthouse.
I am an avid cemetery photographer fulfilling requests in Polk county and trying to photograph all cemeteries in Polk county (where I live).
IF you use my photos in an online tree, PLEASE give credit by saying "courtesy of Beth Sparrow". It's very annoying to see your own photo in an Ancestry tree with no credit given. And you KNOW it's your photo because the bird poop is in the same place.

Thanks, Beth, for getting those photos. I don't live very far away but seldom get to that cemetery. Thanks again Jeanne Walsh

Thank you for the link to the rootsweb list for Polk county burials. I was able to add a few names to my list. The large Gurley & Ellah Green family connected easily, as well as the larger James & Sarah Green clan. All those individuals are already on FamilySearch.org and just needed a source or two to confirm each relationship.
It is the remaining handful of individuals who have me stumped. Its not just that I can't connect any of them to another Green in this county, it is that I can't find them in any record anywhere.
Edward Cadman Green 1903-1946
Karna Green 1821-1897
William W. Green 1869-1919
Edna P. Green 1905-1930
Granted I am trying to keep my searching quick and to the point and these few have used up quite a bit of time and just haven't popped.
The one I have the most hope for is probably the most hopeless to connect, the infant born and died in 1882 (b: Aug, d: May probably reversed) and the only Green buried in Blue Ridge. This cemetery is about three miles east of Hoffer, where my C.W.'s uncle Thomas is buried.
I may set this county aside for now and pursue C.W.'s other nine uncles for a while.

Thank you for your assistance on the Greens from Polk county. I am looking for a C.W. Green said to have died in Polk county before 1912. I am using the process of elimination to see if there are any possible connections.
Thanks for the clear pictures of the Langhammer's... part of my Austrian Bunch.
|Austrian Kolache||Thank-you for Link|
