Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Arizona and have been interested in genealogy and family history for many years. I have been using Find A Grave for quite while and found it especially helpful on a research trip I took to Michigan in April 2008. That trip really got me thinking - and knowing that all my tombstone pictures will get tossed after I die - I decided to start participating!

I am contributing in hopes of helping others who may be searching for names in their family tree. If you have additional information or corrections - please contact me. If I have made a memorial for your direct relative and you'd like it transfered to you, just ask.

RE: Martin Swick
You're welcome Denise. I did find others recorded as buried in the same area but did not find Martin.

RE: Oswald Kempton
The spellings are as the newspaper article printed it. I have seen Amelia Lee, spelled Emelia, also...FYI, she was married to Carl Lee (can't find them on Find A Grave) I haven't found the other sisters either. Have been doing a lot of research on the Kemptons as I am from the area where many did live.

Did a bit of quick looking. I created one of the memorials first, and the two other(strangely, because they'd been gone for a number of years)were created just days before mine, and unlike mine, have no information beyond dates. The Jones in Trumansburg cemetery was created in 2015 and another memorial has recently been added to it. You might want to try and contact Find A Grave about the apparent non-existance of Jones in Trumansburg, and suggest that they might supply more information about Jones in Schuyler so that people who are looking to place people whose obituaries say they are buried ins Jones Cemetery, Trumansburg know where to look. In the meantime I have moved the one memorial and will contact the other creator about merginf the memorials as I have the obituaries and links, and that infrmation should be preserved by the original creator. DOn't know how fast I'll ge

Sorry -- my pc is udating, and it won't let me correct typos right now -- but I want to go ahead and send this, so I don't lose the content of this message!

Thanks for letting me know. One of the frustrating things, I've found, is that sometimes Find A Grave "names" or locates cemeteries inaccurately. Then, on the basis of obituary information, folks get placed in cemeteries that don't exist. I have found it frustrating trying to get a response from Find A Grave about correcting this kind of information -- even when, as seems similar to your experience, I am standing in the improperly named cemetery, photographing a welcome sign with the proper name.

I don't recall much about the memorials you've mentioned, other than I had some correspondence with a gentleman who was trying to locate someone -- possibly the father's?-- grave, but could not find it, but had decided to link the children's obituaries in the hopes that someday more information could be found (possibly you have located the father?). I do recall that it seemed sad that there were so many lost young people in that family.

What I would be inclined to do if I were you is to post a photograph on all memorials and that way, when they are eventually corrected/merged, your hard work won't be lost.

I will try to reach out to the other contributor, but sometimes there's no response. Typically I do a full search, and not just a cemetery search, before adding a name so typically mine is the first created, but there certainly are glitches.

RE: Aurelia Field Emmons
I have a postcard addressed to Aurelia Emmons from an unknown cousin dated Oct 1909. It appears the postmark is from Durand, Wis. The "picture" side is a young child, said to be the cousin's grandchild at 1 year old. I was hoping to find a family member that might be interested in having it.

Aurelia Emmons
Can you please tell me if you are related to Aurelia Emmons of Conklin, Michigan? I am not, but am trying to locate a relative. Thank you.

RE: Matt & Kate Ribich
HA! You are most welcome. Snows are coming so this time of year you have to get 'er done! (<:) Thanks too for the feed back on the extra Ribich name I found. With a unique name as this, I try to look around thinking the few in the cemetery just might be related. Glad to help! Best Wishes!
