I love to search for that lost relative, in those snake infested graveyards. I have been researching for 25 years and still doing it in a much larger phase now that I have retired. Family names are Matheny-Knopp - Board and Waybright. Of course there are many more lines. All of these names came very early 1820 to 1840 to Jackson, WVa|

Thanks for your gravesite work at Boyce Cemetery.
However,it appears that you have added an incorrect gravesite photo of a damaged headstone to Find A Grave memorial #8218027 for Lydia Flesher McKown.Although the given name on that stone has been obliterated,the date of November 1881 is not compatible with the death date of that person.
Therefore,pursuant to Find A Grave policy/guidelines I am now requesting that you DELETE that photo from that particular memorial,#8218027 at Boyce Cemetery.
If you have any questions go ahead and contact me via SAC thru any Find A Grave McKown memorial that I manage.
Thanks for your assistance,

I am working with the above organization to document and post pics on their web site for people like you and me to have access to in our research. I was wondering if you would give me permission to use the pictures that you have posted on find a grave? I have been sending them the ones that I have added and they are very pleased with the info and pictures. If you give me the o.k. to send them for info and pics I will let them know that it is your info and pics and they are suppose to post that it comes from you.
and I understand if you would rather not give me the ok to use your postings.

I am trying to local anyone who can help me with my family tree. My great-grandmother, Ester Medley, had a child out of wedlock in 1887. From the information I know the father of the child was Fred Matheny or Mathaney. My great-grandmother lived in Morgan County, Ohio at the time.
If you have any information that can help me locate some members of the family I would greatly appreciate it.
She named the child, Nettie Hannah Medley

Clement Matheny, I see where you have posted a picture on "Shinn Family Cemetery" which says "Fairplain Cemetery 1/2 mile" Question: is the Fairplain and Shinn cemeteries one and the same? There is also listed on Find A Grave a "Shinn-Little Cemetery" Rock Castle, Jackson Co., WV. Is Shinn-Little and Shinn Family Cemetery the same? The reason I am asking, there is duplicate memorials and before we make changes I would like to understand just what is the correct cemetery. If you have any knowledge or know someone who does, please let me know how we might resolve the confusion.

I see your photo for Enoch William Robinson at Drift Run Methodist Cemetery in Sandyville, Jackson, WV. Would you, by any chance, know if his parents are also in that cemetery? John Anderson Robinson & Hannah Elizabeth Truex Robinson. They passed away in Jackson County, but I don't know where they were buried. Three of their children, Enoch, Charles, & Charlotte (Weekley), are buried there. Just thought you might have seen their marker. Thanks!

Thank you for the photo of James' headstone.
did you happen to look at the other three sides of the stone? I was told his wife, Hannah, (there is a memorial for her as well) is on one of the sides?
|Natalie Smith||Mordecai Thomasson photo|
Thank you so much for the photo of Mordecai Thomasson's tombstone. I don't know if you go to that cemetery very often, but I would appreciate it if, the next time you go there, you could look closely at his death month. The photo looks like it could be either Jun or Jan and I have seen references using both of those dates. The county death record gives the date as Feb, so I'm inclined to think the "Jan" is the correct month. I had hoped the tombstone photo would resolve the issue, but I just really can't tell. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the picture! It is very nice! I just wish the stone didn't have that dark blemish there on his death month. Maybe if I can get back there myself, I can run my finger over that one letter and see if I can tell if it is a "u" or an "a".
Anyway, I don't mean to ask you to go out of your way or anything. Just if you think of it next time you happen to be there and don't mind.
Thank you so much!
|buckeyegirl1721||Board Cemetery, Frozen Camp|
Hello! I was on the Jackson county WV genweb website and saw that you had visited and transcribed the Board Cemetery on Frozen Camp Creek Road. My husband and I just visited there a couple days ago on our way home from Hilton Head (we live in Columbus, Ohio) but were unable to find the exact location of the cemetery! John and Nancy Board are his ancestors, and we would love to find their graves. We are going to back through the area at the end of the month and was wondering if it might be possible to get some more specific directions or perhaps even meet up with you in order to locate the cemetery. We would be so, so very grateful!! Thanks!
|Mark Morgan||Samuel Neely Morgan|
I don't think I ever thanked you for taking the picture of these headstones. You were very fast and did a wonderful job.
And the same for Mrs Susanna Armstrong Morgan.
Please forgive me for my tardiness.
