The marker for Mildred Dawson Burns and John Burns was difficult to find as it was covered in dirt. We found it with help from the cemetery office. There are 11 burials in the lot with the surnames Burke, Russell, Dawson, McCarthy, Burns, O'Neil and Owens.

RE: Barnes in SI Cemetery
Hello,

Thank you for the Barnes family memorial transfers. I am not related to them either. I am doing research for a 5th cousin on his wife's side and it appears her father's first wife (not her mother) sister married Stephan D Barnes. However, I will keep the memorials because I use to live on Staten Island for 25 years, which is the main reason I am doing this research. I will add any information that I have found and I will request the rest of the family that was interned there.

Margaret

RE: Handrahan
You are welcome. I'm sorry there is no headstone, but it is in a very peaceful, pretty section of the cemetery.

Hi Hybrasil
I'm just glad I could have helped, it always sadden me when I come across a plot with no headstone. I have a lot in my family without headstone's. I had to get to the cemetery on Sunday because they are predicting more snow today and Wednesday.....JP

Cole
I've fulfilled your Cole photo requests. Unfortunately, it isn't a very pretty time of year here, and the marker required a bit of excavation. I certainly would not be offended if you decide to re-request these after next year's spring cleanup has things looking beautiful once again. Cheers, Julie.

RE: Theodore Davis
I think discrepancies like this are pretty common, just thought you should know about it. It's a nice looking stone, I wonder what they do with the old ones.
