I often take photos of a stone because it's beautifully carved and add it to the database. I'm always willing to transfer any people that are not my relatives.

I'm not hung up on copyright of my photos. Feel free to use them at will. Give me credit if you want, not if you don't.
I think putting one's own name or logo on a pic is tacky and detracts from the picture. Your submitted name link is directly under the picture. Why be boastful? It's not about you, but about the deceased after all. :-)

RE: Side flash Technique?
I do not use side flash technique. It was used by Randy Frasier [now deceased]. As you might note it produces and 'passable' photo to ID lettering and tympanum images. However, I use the full length closet mirror [can be held by a second person OR set in a wooden frame [another of Frasier's ideas] so that it can be moved rapidly down a line of stones from about 9AM until midday [redirecting sunlight] across the stone's face which produces 'the best' image. From midday until about 1 or 1:30PM the 'overhead' sun produces excellent results on WEST facing stones.

RE: Side flash Technique?
When photographing gravestones I use a door length mirror to redirect the sun light. A friend built me a frame to hold the mirror when I am working alone. Really best way for most photos in a period of time is with a 2nd person moving along the row redirecting the sun / mirror light across the stone. About mid day the sun over head is sufficient. We are talking about west facing stones here ie AM sun. A small mirror produces 'small' reflection, thus the door mirror from Home Depot. I always keep a second in the car because 'accidents' do happen [don't bend the mirror to stretch the light - they shatter easily] Found side flash only gave a small amount of direct light. Mirror is best.

I noticed that you had linked Marmaduke EARLE b. 8 March 1749 d. 29 May 1839, with his step mother, Hepzibeth (Johnson) Earle. His mother was Mary (Newhall) EARLE, b. 1704-1755.
Thank you again for all the memorials you have contributed.

EARLE, Mary Newhall 1704-1755
I noticed on your Memorial that you have her maiden name Newhall as her burial name. Should be Mary (Newhall) EARLE.
Also you have "Children of Martha NEWHALL & Robert EARLE" Her name is Mary not Martha. This error is also on Robert Earle's Memorial #94713309.
I thought you might want to make these changes. Robert and Mary (Newhall) EARLE are my 9th Great Grandparents. Thank you for creating these memorials and add the Headstone photos. It is greatly appreciated.

RE: Side flash Technique?
i USE A 'FULL' CLOSET DOOR TYPE OF MIRROR TO REDIRECT AVAILABLE SUNLIGHT ACROSS A DARK STONE FACE. tHIS EXTENDS THE HOURS FOR PHOTOGRAPHY - SAY ABOUT 9:30am TILL WHEN SUN IS OVERHEAD. I DON'T HAVE THE SIDE FLASH MOUNT FOR THE CAMERA I USE - NIKON 500. THE GENTLEMAN WHO DEVELOPED THE SIDE FLASH FOR EVENING PHOTOS IS NOW DECEASED.
