RE: McKenzie Co., ND Obits
In 1932 when Clara married Gerhard Gudmunson, it lists her residence as Watford City, ND. The marriage took place in Lois and Clark Co., MT though. Gerhard was by that time living in MT. I think I need to do just as you suggested and go through the 1930 census there manually. I have done this other times with other people with great results. One unresolved issue I have is the daughter Thelma. I found a Thelma Hildre buried in the other county, with dates who fit Clara's sister Thelma. Not certain if that is her or not.

McKenzie Co., ND Obits
BTW, you seem pretty experienced in this area. Who maintains obituaries for McKenzie county area on microfilm? I called the public library there and the lady had no clue what I was talking about.

RE: More Hildres
I have long suspected that they are somehow related, but never had documentation to figure out exactly how. I need to start sending off for obituaries etc. I will be getting some birth records soon as well.

I am absolutely certain that I have them found on the 1915 and 1920 censuses.

I remember now.... the 1920 census I have them in McKenzie county, ND. I also have them on the 1915 ND state census in McKenzie Co., ND. On the 1930 census there are 2 children shown that are OLDER than Clara, that are not on either the 1915 or 1920 censuses. Clara was from McKenzie county so I know those two censuses are actually her. Thus, the 1930 just does not fit.
