Bio Photo It seems I always end up living by or near a cemetery since childhood. I have always enjoyed exploring cemeteries and photographing headstones.

RE: Susie Stafford Hodges
Well you really got me on that one, it was so long ago, I can't remember. I am going to transfer her memorial to you and you can fix it.

RE: Susie Stafford Hodges
Could you please give me her Find A Grave # so I can find who you are speaking of.

RE: Baker-Moore cemetery
...sorry, cut my message off too soon.

I can submit it to admin for them to be merged.
If we ask, they can keep both names by making one of them an AKA linking to the other.

RE: Baker-Moore cemetery
Then as duplicate cemeteries, they need to be merged.

Baker-Moore cemetery
Baker-Moore cemetery, Laurens county.
Following the directions on this cemetery page on a map, I find there's already a cemetery listed and mapped at that location: Moore Cemetery
No duplicate memorials in it, but it does make for a duplicate cemetery.

Whether the one memorial in it is accurate or not, I have no idea. I didn't add it or the cemetery.

Surrency / Woodlawn Cemetery
Hi Carol,

There is a large outlined plot but very few stones in it. Neither Surrency you requested had a head stone and there is a broken stone for Wayne Surrency. The stone is very thin and someone tried to put it back together on the ground. I will try to post pics tonight. The only other stone in the plot was a double headstone for Dupree. Any relation that you know of?

Morse / Branch - Woodlawn Cemetery

I saw that Carol requested Claira Morse....she is in the same area with Rosa Larche & the Dillon's. Cemetery records show Claira Morse buried Monument Garden, Lot 908, Space 4.

Space 1: John & Isabella Dillon
Space 2: ???
Space 3: Ernest George (infant) & Rosa Larche
Space 4: Claira Morse

Susie Jean Branch is also an unmarked grave. The whole block she is in is grass covered and unmarked. I will post a picture to her memorial.

I did just happen to notice in the cemetery records that Fred Dillon Jr is buried in the same plot with Susie. They are both buried in Oak Garden, Lot 630,
space 1: Susie
space 4: Fred

Anyone else you can think of that might be buried in spaces 2 & 3????

I went back to Premelin Larche's grave to see if S.O. info was on the same stone - and it was on the back. I will post pics to his memorial. A note you may want to add: there is currently a very large tree branch sitting on top of the stone. I will post pics for you to see. In the future if the limb is not removed it may cause damage to the stone.

I will copy and paste this message to Carol's wall so you both have the same info. My email is

Look forward to hearing from you! :)

He is Jasper Newton Wells. He was born about 1835 in Edgefield, SC. Moved with his sisters and brother to Henry, Alabama. His father was John Wells. This is the Ancestry page if you have His parents are a work in progress.

Thank you for sharing these tombstones from Savannah. This is my husbands great great grandfather. We would not have found him if you had not shared because he was lost in the paper shuffle during the war.
Thanks again.
