Hi,

I would like to add the photo of Minnie Nelson's (# 38300025) headstone to my family tree on Ancestry. She was my 5th cousin 1x removed ,not close but still family.

Thank you,

Karl and Karna Olsson
Dear Cayuse-
I was so grateful to find this memorial to some long lost near-relatives in my Olson family tree. Thank you for documenting it for posterity. Karl Ludwig was a "man-at-arms" ( cavalry) in his youth in Malmo Sweden and once he and family immigrated to USA ( 1888) he appears to have not worked other than as farm laborer from time to time. Karl and Karna's daughter, Bengta (Bessie) Olsson was a career domestic servant and ended up helping my Grandmother, Anna Olson ( not blood kin, as it happens), find domestic work in and around Rockford and Evanston, Illinois before Grandma was married in 1909. I am pleased the memorial looks a bit "grand" as I suspect this almost-kin Olson family were dignified and deserved the elegance of a fitting headstone.

Jenny & Nels Pearson
Hello,
I've done extensive research of my Swedish roots. I am providing following information from my family tree on she and her husband Nels.

Jenny Mathilda Petersdotter PEARSON
2nd cousin 1x removed
Birth 03 Nov 1879 in Storäng Kalvsvik, Kronoberg, Sweden
Death 30 Nov 1960 in Machesney Park, Winnebago, Illinois

Nels Persson PEARSON
Find A Grave Memorial# 59733040
husband of 2nd cousin 1x removed
Birth 06 Jul 1879 in Borgeby, Malmöhus, Skane, Sweden
Death 02 Apr 1959 in Winnebago County, Illinois

They both emigrated to South Beloit, WI, Nels in 1906 and Jenny in 1908 with Oscar and Selma. They moved to Milbank, SD where Nels filed his naturalization papers in 1912. Four children were born in Milbank, Esther, Roy, Edith, and Elmer. Nels and Jenny lived there until moving to Machesney Park sometime in 1929 (according to Jenny's obit).

Children born in Sweden
Oscar Johan PEARSON
Find A Grave Memorial# 74635841
Your 3rd cousin
Birth 02 Dec 1902 in Borgeby, Malmöhus, Skane, Sweden
Death 18 Jul 1992 in Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois

Selma Maria Vilhemina PERSON
Find A Grave Memorial# 26230130
Your 3rd cousin
Birth 17 Aug 1905 in Limhamn, Malmöhus, Skane, Sweden
Death 02 Oct 1913 in Milbank, Grant, South Dakota
I'm not sure why Selma's gravestone is Person other than name confusion. They emigrated as Persson, changed name to Pearson after Selma's death.

If you can connect Oscar to Nels and Jenny I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks so much.
Dianne
