Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am documenting burials in the following cemeteries in Hancock County, Ill.: Fountain Green, Hadley, St. Simon (a.k.a. Lincoln or Lincoln Catholic), Majorville, Roberts, Webster, Willis, Wright, Yetter. Also Friendship and Hills Grove in McDonough County, Ill. Links to these cemeteries are located on my homepage.

I implore Find A Grave members to seek out tombstones which have not been documented. We all have family trees in which there are persons for whom we have no evidence of when or where they died and were buried.

Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines outlined in the "Help with Find A Grave", linked at left, particularly those under the Working With Photos heading:

--Can I add a photo that I found on a different website?

--Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?

--I found a photo of a relative on Find A Grave, can I use it?

The above questions and answers are in agreement with standards approved by the National Genealogical Society

Unless otherwise stated by the contributor, no tombstone photographs taken after 1989 are in public domain. If you are creating your own family tree on another website, please respect the copyright of the contributor.

Above all, remember that "We want Find A Grave to remain a place of respect and remembrance, just like a real cemetery."

William Henry Berges #29822069
I have read the note about where William Henry Berges was born. He was my grandmother's uncle. Blandinsville,IL is in Hire Township & McDonough County. I would assume therefore that others who have reported him being born in Blandinsvile would probably be correct. I know information I have on my grandmother has always said she was born in Hire Township. I recently acquired a copy of her birth certificate which says she was born in Blandinsville. I thank you for the work you have done on this site. I have located many of my relatives because of your work on this.

Thank you for the detailed explanation of the reason why you're not able to attach his mother to his record at this time. You sound like you really value transparency & honesty.

Could you please send me your "Information" response in it's entirety to my email? I am only able to read to the part where you mention his mother's date of death as 1855, which is the date I have in my records too, I might add. Mary (Polly) Coffman Hungate is my 4th Great Grand Aunt & I would love to connect all her relatives to her.

Thank you for all your hard work on this site. It really makes a difference to have the correct information on each file and know we can trust it.

Sincerely,
Joni Jundt

Thank you for info/source.
Thank you for the source.

There are so many websites out there now with completely fabricated information, I have to/want to be careful as I can, now.

Also, Ancestry censuses/trees can be wrong or fabricated as well.

I'm also extra cautious since Ancestry purchased FindAGrave because now, all this information is on Ancestry and I do not think most people click through to read the actual page, they just add the (old/erroneous) information.

I'm especially cautious if people sent links to parents etc, now since those mistakes get perpetuated forever once they make it to other sites.

Thank you for the information. If you let me know where you saw the "extract," would be grateful.

Mr. Hungate
Thank you for your note.

It is completely at your discretion what to add to his page; and I totally understand the reasons.

Thank you for all you do.

Happy New Year!
I got Loyd Keith Duffie's family straightened out - oh my God! I have his wife's obituary - you'd think that would help. I am onward with Catherine Welch Watson tonight - I don't understand why nobody has ever put her on Find A Grave, but I have a picture of her stone - it's a start! Have a great 2016.
