Bio Photo "The richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten." -- Cesare Pavese

It's an honor and a pleasure working with you!

If this might help your research, I can do simple look-ups with several resources I have here at home...these resources cover Fulton and Peoria counties in Illinois.

Fulton County:

Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home Records (1885-1917)

Greenwood Cemetery Book (1826-1920)

Obituaries From The Cuba Journal (Cuba, Ill.) 1915- 1925

Peoria County:

St. Mary's Cemetery Book (city of Peoria)

St. Joseph's Cemetery Book (city of Peoria)

Lutheran Cemetery (city of Peoria)

Estate Index of Peoria County (1825- 1922)

Obituary Look-up for the Brimfield area

Good luck in your research!

Thank you very much for fulfilling my photo requests for Ira, Elizabeth & Lyman Catherman. Considering the condition of the stones they must not have been easy to find. I appreciate the effort you put in.

Illinois filming
Well, I'm not sure when reruns are scheduled - my segment was in 2012. I was just the genealogist who had found a 3rd great grandmother for whom another lady had been searching. (We were true cousins). My part was small and it was raining & blowing like 50 miles and hour!

The fun part was flying to the location with the technicians doing the show - what a great bunch of people - anyway it is produced by BYU College Broadcasting. They do American Ride, Granite Flats, Story Trek, The Song that Changed My Life, Turning Point, several sports shows and this was one of their series called "The Generations Project".

It featured a girl named Natalie, who had lost a child and was searching for emotional strength through research of her pioneer ancestors. Here is the link - I tried to view it again, but it kept pausing - hope it was just my computer. I have a tape of the show which they gave me, so have not looked up the website lately.

This film company is made up mostly of college students who are training in the film industry; but all their work seems to be very professional. Being associated with a religion based curriculum, their work focuses on family, sports, patriotism, and other good moral values, so I have always enjoyed all their shows. Their genealogy research was right down my alley! Cheers~ Shirleen

Sexton duties
Hi again:
No...I have only been in Illinois once, I'm sad to say; but many of my ancestors are from the Adams County area and I was there a few years ago to help film a genealogy series for a television show.

It was so touching to see the many small cemeteries perched in vast fields of grain - or snuggled along a river lonely & forgotten! Your handle, "Memories from the Mist" is a fitting description of how I felt when there. (double click on my bio photo - the sun was shining, but the mist laid low!)

I am a volunteer chairperson & "keeper of records" for Willard Precinct Cemetery & Willard Pioneer Cemetery in Box Elder Co., Utah. First, I was elected and now, a board of County Supervisors appoint us (my Board) to administer to the needs of the precinct. I keep thinking I'm too old for this, but my mind & typing are holding up, so who knows!
Cheers, Shirleen

Thank you so much for the photos of my memorials at Lamb Cemetery ~ I do not get to view them often, and had failed to notice them last month ~ you should let people know when you do such nice things without being asked!

I appreciate it very much and the photos are so nice of those old stones! Cheers~ Shirleen

Thank you so much for the picture of Catherine Osborn's gravestone. It's so great to be able to add the picture to our tree.
She was born Catherine Crissey, 18 Aug 1826 in New Canaan, Fairfield, Connecticut to Abram Crissey and Ellis Abigail Betts. She married Alfred Osborn, 14 Mar 1850 in Greenbush, Warren, Illinois, as his 2nd wife. She died 18 Jul 1851, after being married only 16 month, in Greenbush during the cholera epidemic.
Thank you so much for your work in helping all of us who live too far away to get pictures ourselves.

bird pic
I love your bird pic, too! My photo was taken at the Audubon Swamp Gardnen in Charleston, SC, while the great blue herons were nesting a few years ago. What kind of bird is in your profile? Not one that I see around here! happy sunday!
