Bio Photo I'm starting to see way too many headstones being cleaned. This troubles me. It is not your responsibility to touch or disturb a headstone. Cleaning them with a power washer is on so many levels of wrong it scares me. Using any detergent is also wrong, especially bleach as it seeps into the cracks of the stone and weakens it until it will crumble.
Soap and water and elbow grease with a soft bristled brush are the only things you should use if you must clean the stone. NO DETERGENTS, BLEACH, or HIGH PRESSURE WASHERS!

RE: Cecil Saul
I didn't know the story about those men. It was absolutely heartbreaking to me to hear that Cecil had died. We started emailing in June of 2011 or 2012 and kept it going until shortly before his death. He was such a joy to know.

Paul Hoyt, another Jackson County FAGrave person, was at his burial and photographed his tombstone. Paul called me in Ohio and we talked about the service. I am still so sad....

Your bio info for my 2nd great uncles is incomplete. There is another brother William Franklin Owen whom died as a Civil War prisoner at Libby prison.

Margaret Boos Tombstone
Thanks so much for the photo of Margaret Boos's tombstone. I appreciate you taking the time to go out to the cemetery. I'm sure it's not always convenient. You're a saint to give of your time for strangers far away. All the best!

You may be right. Did you get a photo? I don't have her memorial or her husbands.

John E. Detrich
Hello, Can you tell me if this John E. was ever living in Sparta, Illinois? His age is right for me and I found a marriage was between a John E. Detrich and Sarah Ann Jacobs, Her maiden name was Fairbanks born 1818. Just trying to find them.

RE: Elvira James
Thanks for letting me know. Her obituary said something about Evergreen, figured it was that one. Let me know what you find out. She should be with her husband D C James. Maybe she never had a stone.

Thank you very much Paul for your help in getting me started. I hope to add more information in the future as time permits and my learning curve is improved with the findagrave system.
