Martha L. Whittington
I was logging headstones in the Dunnegan Grove Cemetery in Vernon County, Missouri and ran across Martha L. Whittington and it appears she is the daughter of Elmer O. and Rosa Mae Loy Whittington. I created a memorial for her and tried to find her parents and it seems she may be a descendent of yours? Her memorial # is 141768896 and if this is a family member, please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you.

Hannah Whittington
Barnesville is approx. 13-15 miles from Summerfield. Hannah's headstone is at the far right portion of the cemetery, in the old section. I've been meaning to go back and retake a photo because the position of the sun can make such a difference. I'll do that & if it's still not a good capture, I'll upload the best I can get.

The Rooted Tree
RE: Catherine McCleery
You are very welcome. Catherine was a tricky one to find. I wandered that courtyard for quite awhile. Even had to ask for help to no avail. I was about ready to quit, and said out loud, "Catherine, where are you?" And my eyes were immediately drawn to her plaque. lol.

The site I found was for a child's grave. I'm sorry to have given misleading information.

RE: James Whittington
In a nearby cemetery I did find the gravesite marked " James Whittington and Rebecca Griffith, parents of James Whittington."
This is in the Friendship Methodist Church, in case you want to look further.

Seems like I did some research on this fellow or someone with the same name. Names In Stone has some dates, but we discovered the location on their grid was incorrect. Here is the URL if you want to investigate the dates:

I deleted mine. I have a feeling though that Cedar Grove Cemetery and Tarbill Cemetery are one in the same.

My information comes from the Marion Twp Cemetery listings. The number that you listed in the body of your email brings up a different person.

Rose's and Thraps
I was able to find Margaret and Alva Rose's marker and photograph it today for you. Also came across some Thraps a Samuel and his wife, not sure if they're any relation to Sarah Thrap, Alva's mother. I am trying to finish photographing the whole cemetery and came across them today. There may be more, but I was only able to be out there for a couple hours today (too windy and cold!).

Thanks for transferring these memorials to me. Very much appreciated. I am finding a wonderful resource, and your service to the website appears to be considerable.

Thanks for all you have done and have a great day.

RE: Thanks for the corrections
That is what I figured you might be doing!
When time permits, I will go through my memorials and see if there are others. Is there a list at the church that has the plot numbers?

My original entries were from the Cemetery Inscriptions of S. Anne Arundel Co., Md. book.
I also added memorials for the old section from
the Gladys Lassiter book. Now that most of the
gravestones are photographed, I am correcting errors as I notice them.

Thanks for all of your work on the cemetery, it is appreciated!

Loved the family photo you added for the Sheriff of Eureka. I have been reading digitized news articles for Eureka and his name turns up frequently.

RE: Laura Harrelson
Hi. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to respond. This message seems to have come in while I was out of the country and got lost in the mail that had accumulated. Would you be willing to send me an email at my email address, or respond to this with your email address. I will try to get a copy of the records I used and send them to you. However, this was a list composed by someone else in the late 70's and has many typos, so I can not verify the accuracy of the information.

RE: Trenton Beard
If you will let me know the name of Trenton's father I will try some other sources for the information you seek. Obviously, there is no further record of him at FindAGrave.

Hi Again,

Sorry, I meant to say Fairview Cemetery (below), not Evergreen....!

Tombstone Treasures
Matthew & Ida Banner

Matthew and his wife Ida are buried in the old pioneer section of Evergreen Cemetery, and very few headstones are left standing due to weathering and time. Since they passed away in 1919 and 1927 respectively, that's a good indication their headstones would not exist.
Folks new to Find A Grave and to the Colorado Springs area don't know the things that a native and genealogist such as myself would....
I have found their obituaries/death notices in the Gazette Telegraph if you would like to have them.

Just let me know.

He is indeed buried there. You have reached the max of photos so I could not add to the existing memorial. If you create one for him, I will be happy to post
