Schweinfurter graves
Larry, I have pictures of the headstones of Ron Schweinfurters mother Theresa and his uncle Jack. They were all buried together in Mt. View Cemetery. I have attached pictures to Ron and his father Andrew. If you are going to place a find a grave spot for Theresa and Jack let me know and I will attach their pictures. Ron was my neighbor and classmate. I always put flowers on all four of the graves when I am in San Bernardino.

Nope, you got them right with the right headstone. Sorry I have not been able to locate one for Elanor, I will have to ask if the family ever got her a stone.-Jeanne

Kakuska Family
Hi Larry,

Here is the information I have for Jacob & Mary's family. I also have what I think are Jacob's parents and siblings, but I'm not 100% on them. All I know for sure about him is that he had a brother named Anton, who was interviewed in one of the news articles about Jacob's death.

(Sorry this is so long. I hope it all fits.)

I have the same information for Mary Skoblik as you. The children of Mary and Jacob (all born in IL, most likely Cook County):

1. Mary J Kakuska born Feb 1866 (her first name is spelled Marie on her grave and in some census records)
Married Joseph S. Petranek (Dec 1862 - 20 Mar 1904) on 12 Nov 1887
Died sometime in 1955, according to her grave. Mary & Joseph are buried just behind and to the right of Jacob's tombstone. I'll post that memorial and photo later this week and link it to Jacob if I can.

Their children: Joseph John (6 Sep 1889 - 19 Nov 1963), mar. Agnes Votruba; Felix Robert (17 Jun 1891 - Jun 1969), mar. Alma Helen Eaker; Edward Jacob (29 Apr 1894 - Jan 1976), mar. Beatrice Helminski.

2. Anastazi Kakuska born 9 Jul 1869 (according to her death record, though I suspect her birth year was more likely 1868) Her first name is sometimes listed as Anasasia/Anastacia or Annie/Anna.
Married John Anton Smejkal (23 Jan 1868 - 22 Sep 1935) on 31 Dec 1890 (they're my great great grandparents)
Died 14 Jun 1945 in Berwyn, IL. According to Bohemian National Cemetery records, she and her husband were both cremated and picked up, so they have no grave markers.

Their only child is my great grandfather: Robert Joseph Smejkal (13 Dec 1891 - Apr 1965), mar. Syvlia Kotek 4 Aug 1917. They had one child, my grandfather, Richard Robert (14 Jul 1923 - 11 Nov 2004), then divorced sometime before 1930. He was later adopted by her 2nd husband, George Jirsa, and changed his last name. Sylvia did her best to erase everything about Robert, so he's been a bit of a mystery in my research.

3. Frank Kakuska born Dec 1969 according to 1870 census. He never appears again with the family, so I suspect he died before 1880. There are other Frank Kakuskas out there, making it confusing to track him, but the other one born around that time is from different parents.

4. Agnes Kakuska born 24 Apr 1872. Her marriage record name is Aggie.
Married Frank Suma (abt 1867 - 22 Jul 1904) on 29 Sep 1888. They had one son, Frank Jr. (26 Jun 1893 - ?) before he died. In the obituaries of Anastazi and Regina (1945 & 1954), her last name is McCown. I have yet to find a record of this marriage or any record of her death. She is not mentioned in Rosa's obituary, so I suspect she died sometime between 1954 & 1970. Looking at my records now, I'm not entirely sure about their son. I can't find where I got his information, so it's possible I mixed them up with another Frank Suma Jr.

5. Regina Victoria Kakuska born 17 Jul 1877.
Married Stanley Kostka Hajdukiewicz (16 Oct 1875 - 12 May 1969) on 9 Jun 1900
Died 17 Jul 1954 (I got these dates and some of the others from the following site: I'm not sure if it's true that she died on her birthday. However, the person responsible for that tree was Regina & Stanley's grandson, Robert Hale, so he may be correct.) Cremated at Woodlawn Cemetery and ashes scattered in Michigan. Somewhere along the line, their surname was shortened to Hajduk.

Their children: Emily Hajduk (8 Jun 1901 - 20 Feb 1989 in Michigan), married Jerry Klasek; Stanley Kenneth Hajduk (4 Oct 1904 - 15 Jan 1994), married Alma Frederica "Rose" Rottschalk. Robert Hale is their son, though I don't know why he changed his surname.

6. Rosa Matilda Kakuska born 21 Jul 1879
Married Edward Jacob Kamin (21 May 1878 - Dec 1964) on 9 Aug 1899 in Michigan, though they lived in Chicago. The marriage record is on the LDS site.
Died 11 Mar 1970 in Elmhurst, IL. Buried in Mt. Emblem in Elmhurst.

7. Carolina Elizabeth Kakuska born 19 Mar 1881. Her birth certificate on LDS names her as Lizabeta, and shows her mother's maiden name as Skopisova, but everything else matches Carolina's information. She later went by Carrie.
married Loomis Cochran (1861 - 14 Aug 1946) sometime before 1904. They moved to Michigan before 1920. By 1930, Carrie was married to David J Ritchey on 2 Sep 1922, so she and Loomis must have divorced.
No death record, though I suspect she died before 1945, as she is not mentioned in Anastazi's obituary.

Carrie had 4 children with Loomis: Orville Cochran (7 Apr 1904 - Apr 1976), married Angeline ?; Meva Agnes Cochran (9 Oct 1909 - ?), married Leslie Robert Smith; Virginia Cochran (abt 1917 - ?); Mary Cochran (23 Jul 1918 - 11 Jan 2009), married Clarence Rakosnik. Only Mary was mentioned in Orville's obituary, so I suspect Meva and Virginia died before 1976.

On Carrie's birth certificate, it says that Mary had 9 children. The Hale genealogy site listed a Leopold who was born and died in 1873, but no other young deaths. She may have had a stillbirth in there somewhere.

Hope this helps! Most of my research came from Ancestry and the LDS site, with some help from the Hale genealogy site. Thanks for the info about the 3 unmarked graves, too. That's interesting to know. Could be Mary and two children that died young?
