RE: Love Kingsbury
This gravestone had been difficult to locate because a good part of it was in the ground. Most of the gravestones in this old section of the cemetery were removed in the 1950's by well intentioned men so the field could be cleared of overgrowth, etc.
They were placed back in nice neat rows and many had to be placed deeper in the ground due to being broken, etc. There is an effort underway to better record and photograph these old stones so a team is working row by row cleaning, recording inscriptions and photographing with the ultimate goal of making a map for this section of Plains Cemetery. Glad I could be of help to you.

You are welcome. They are also many great grandparents of mine. It is always great when you can put enough pieces together to make another link.

RE: Bertha de Ferrers-Furnival Bigod
Hello Billie

Glad you like the photos of Greyfriars. I will probably go back there sometime and take some more photographs as it seems, from the research I've done of the area, that in about 50 years or so very little of the area will remain. Dunwich is on the Suffolk coast and in the 13th century a lot of the town disappeared under the sea after a three day storm! Over the years erosion has claimed more and more of the coastline. There is one gravestone left on the cliffs from the All Saints church - the church and the graves have all been claimed by the sea over the last 100 years. This gravestone is very near the cliff entrance to Greyfriars so who knows how long it will last. I will let you know when I go and pass on whatever photographs I take.

My husband is related to the de Ferrers by marriage. William who died 1190 in Acre was married to Goda DE TOENI and Sybilla DE BRAOSE we think - so many names the same it's quite difficult sometimes to make sure we have the right families - anyway Vic is related to Goda DE TOEN who was his 23 x great aunt.

I'll be in touch with you and Steve when I get more photos.

Linda

Regarding Lindsley Family
Hi Billie - I am emailing about the Lindsley Family. I am related.
I don't know much about Whiting Smith Lindsley - But I looked him up on Ancestry's Fold3 website, and found a bunch of documents from the widows pention files. Have you seen these? They list what and how he died from , etc. Just though You might be interested. I've read through them a little bit, but I wonder if it details what happened to his body after his death, as you have on his Findagrave page that there's no listing anywhere of his burial.
Thanks for your time! :)

RE: Mittie Chaney Jones
Hi Billie,

I am not related to Mittie. I just stopped by her memorial to pay my respects, when I was leaving additional information for someone else buried there. After learning the history of the Abilene State School, I always make a point to try and pass on any additional information that I run across for anyone buried in the cemetery.

Thank you for the Pirkle Memorials.

I am a frustrated "other Pirtle" descendants. Seeing days and days at a time, over and over sorting out all the Johns, Hans Johns, Hans John Jacobs and my 2 George Pirtles. in the maze of other George Pirtles. Good to see your site.

RE: Tabitha Barrett Hovis Miller parents
Billie,
I read your message about suggesting some corrections for me. But, I don't know where to access ir on this site. Help, please. Tabitha Barrett Hovis is my g-g-grandmother, so we are "kin" somewhere down the line.
After Wm. 'Bill' Hovis died, Tabitha married a man named Wiliam Miller from Poyner, MO on 18 Nov 1891. I know she passed away 29 Oct 1899 and from the obit, he must have still been alive. That is all the information I have on him.
Any help or information you have on the Barretts or Nevilles would be much appreciated. If I have any info you need please don't hesitate to ask
Gayla

Ferguson Relatives
Hi Billie,
Looks like we share some Ferguson relatives. John Ferguson was my Great, Great Grandfather.
I have been working to find ancestors and family members for a year or so and would like to compare note with someone with the same interest. I have a few pictures on Ancestry.com and would love to see any that you would be willing to share. I look forward to hearing from you.

Truman Baldwin
Hi Billie,
I posted a photo of Truman Baldwin's grave for your request. I did note that the grave says his birth year is 1779 and your memorial says 1778. I have yet to find Howard Baldwin's grave at Walnut Hill.

RE: Sir Richard Chetwode
Dear Billie Jasper,

Thank you for your kind words, and deeds.

It is so very important, to me, asking questions for gaining knowledge then to compile as well share.

Tell me more of you too.

Are you kin to us?

One of my third cousins through the Chetwoods ,etc..etc.. different spellings also is Francis Scott Key the US Poet who wrote the poem which became one of , well to me now and prior to knowing he was/is kin , the nicest songs. I like GOD Bless America so much also.

One kin through marriage I am and have had difficulties with is finding this ...woman's first married name etc, I just made a memorial here # 133386761 , Mrs. Mable E. Harlow ___ Green.

She married my cousin Ned. I wonder how I shall be able to find her first married and middle names.

On Richard Chetwod , M.P. the site which you just showed me is nice. But the accuracy is in question. As an example one of my direct kinline's on that Dutch Liquor Transport Ship, MAYFLOWER, does not even show Henry Howland nor his brother Arthur.. On Sir Richard you noticed no DOB/DOD. It is my knowledge/belief he died in the Tower of London for alleged crimes he had committed.

I just did a memorial on someone which lost the Tittle as Richard may have in what was called the First Crusade. A direct line kin fought in the Crusades and had my first name. Only one way as in the Holy Bible it is spelled..eh..

Regards,

Jonathan Robert De Mallie

TNX
Dear Billie Jasper,

Thank you for your attention to detail.

What was the URL or Find A Grave # to link to him now too? What is his DOB?

On M.P., it is in the UK, Canada, etc.. Member of Parliment.

We gained so many people in the Wars from the English/Scottish , etc..

Please add me as your friend. On Find A Grave also now too.

Regards,

Jonathan Robert De Mallie

PS: A lot of Chetwode, Chitwoods, Chetwoods, etc.. came and are kin in the US too. Especially in what was the Province of Virginia.

Hi Billie,
Really, I loose nothing when I transfer one of the memorials that I have created. I always keep them in a virtual cemetery, and know who is caring for them.

Thank you for asking for the transfer....Audrey
