Two guys named Johann and Joe in the same lot with identical birth and death years? His wife may have died elsewhere and/or remarried, so was intended to be buried with him but was not. As far as I'm concerned, you've deliberately created a duplicate entry for Joe just to be stubborn and argumentative.

I don't understand your comment to me. I have posted two pictures, the family marker and an individual one both with the exact same dates in the same lot. Perhaps he did not die in WA?

unclaimed cremains in King County
thanks for the info; community grave was established at Mount Olivet; per cemetery rules, no photography allowed; i was there that day, but was not allowed to get close; the unclaimed are all recent and will have a generic marker in a few months

Lon & Petra Brown
Hi Jeff - hmm, names do not appear in anything I can find right off - I notice in 1910 they are in Granite Falls, 1920 Duvall and 1930 Snohomish so they moved a bit. His death record says father was William Brown - there is one listed for IOOF cemetery, died 1910 age about 60, so that could have been his father. The only Brown mentioned in histories is Constable Brown, mentioned only by that, in Nellie's "First 50 Years" book. He was town constable in early years of 1900s.

RE: Nelson family gravestone in Lake View Cemetary
By the way this comment:

you could die and Find A Grave may take years to figure it out and until then - everyone has to wait.

is very hostile. I do not appreciate it.

RE: Wurzer, McCormick, Wallitner, Wetterauer graves at IOOF Monroe
thanks Jeff - yes, so many photographs - we don't do baby pictures (someone once dumped off a box of hundreds of baby photos with none of them even identified - what were they thinking!) but otherwise if there are many of the same individuals we just have to choose a few to have in our photo database, although we keep all that are donated. We have a small museum space. If they show a house or other building or some activity they are especially appreciated. Other artifacts, as long as they relate to Monroe, are gladly accepted. Again, it's a storage issue with a small space. Paul Everet has been doing a lot of the grave photographing as a retirement hobby but I'm sure he would appreciate the help. Sis and Ed took over the cemetery in 1967 and it was a real mess - much of it had never even been mowed and as it had passed through several people who didn't care much, the records were very poor. And there were many Native American families that didn't believe in markers, and I suppose the poor only had wooden markers that rotted. We do what we can.

I've been on here for 5 and a half years, get edits and comments every day and you're one of a kind. On a more positive note - if you haven't already used it - there is a link at under "resourses" to the Monroe Monitor newspaper that is very searchable and you can find hits there for all the names you mentioned. We've been adding new issues continually so keep checking.

sigh, you're coming across as a bit hostile. Jeff, it really doesn't matter how I got the information I put on Find A Grave as far as transfers - because of issues that many of us have had I, as many contributers, stick to the Find A Grave guidelines, END OF STORY. Since you seem to be so concerned, I will tell you - I spent years gathering the cemetery data. If you talk to Sis, the longtime caretaker, she can tell you there has never been a list of burials - what there is is sketchy, until more recent burials. I spent 18 months, and several visits since, at the cemetery. I spent weeks going over every record at the funeral home, I went over death certificates, I went over obituaries. I have personally dug up several buried markers and could probably spend many months looking for more. This was until recently the cemetery where those who were indigent in Snohomish county were buried and they had no markers. At least 600 burials have no markers and most have no location noted anywhere. Some records say buried "out by the south fence". Photographing is a separate thing - there are volunteers who do that as they can/want - they are not part of the initial entry. Volunteers are needed to do that, if you can. Perhaps you should put together a webpage with your family research - there are several sites with easy to use templates and such that are available quite inexpensively.

RE: Leslie Wallitner
sigh... Jeff, you're being a bit childish I think - I didn't respond because it's not a big deal and I supposed you could just get over your odd yearning to "own" memorials without actually going out and working to make them available for others. I don't see where you've done anything with the memorials you've felt you had to take over that couldn't have just been done with an edit. Find A Grave was never set up to be a family tree thing - it was to make memorials available for everyone to access, and was set up by cemetery, not by family. I always thought a flaw in Find A Grave was that any one person had control of a memorial - I would have rather it went to the site having control. It works ok as long as everyone is completely honest and accurate, but that is nearly impossible, and anyone can put in any inaccurate info, and anyone can add duplicates. Perhaps you can't fathom the amount of work it involves, but I did add every memorial one at a time, and I think I'm pretty healthy and will probably outlive Find A Grave which I predict will not be with us in 10 or 15 years. Before that I hope to, one at a time, relocate all the information into the local historical society's website so it is available to everyone.

Hi Jeff - I used to be more flexible, but, because of a few unfortunate incidents, now stick to the FindAGrave guidelines for transfers - they are in their Frequently Asked Questions area. But just go to the memorial and click on the edit tab and submit info and I check them almost every day. You can do links there as well as biographical info. And off course you can also add photos any time.

Cemetery Scavenger :)
Just a revision for the end of my last message:
I had exaggerated a bit.
I found TWO Wurzer graves at the "Holy Trinity Catholic..." Cemetery, and uploaded photos for both. Anna's was tough, because her nameplate was really sunken into the ground.
As far as the Bosch graves go, I had already uploaded the photos awhile back, I think to fulfill 1-2 photo requests, so that was all I had.

Cemetery Scavenger :)
RE: Wurzer Family
I made it back to the Fingal cemetery and got much clearer photos of the Wurzer graves for Rosalia, Melcher, both Joseph's and Franz. I especially focused on the ones with German inscriptions, just like you had asked. :)
Here is what I was able to decipher (though I don't speak any German...)
Franz Wurzer
GEB 22 Aug 1860
GEST 5 Mai 1906
"Jungfrau mutter o Maria
Keusch und unersch
Sa von meinem staub gechr_ (?)
Gewidmet von Wadenfänger Gattin und Kinder "
Joseph Wurzer
Born Nov 12 1865
Died June _ 1890
Member of Co. b. (not sure on the "b")
Found Vol. (not sure on "Vol."), Died at San Francisco on his Rowbt from the Philippine Is.
Heir ruht
Geb Aug 6 1851
Gest May 14 1922
“Las ihm ruhen en frieden. Amen.”
I didn't add these to the marker inscription part of their pages, because I noticed you managed them, and I figured there were some words here and there that I got wrong. So I left it up to you to figure them out and hopefully add to their pages..?
Also, I searched through the whole cemetery while I was out there, so I think I got all of the Wurzer graves I could see.
I also stopped at the "Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery" and found 2 Bosch graves and 3 Wurzer graves. I will be uploading them soon as well.

RE: Wurzer Family
Hi Jeff,
I will be heading up to the Fingal cemetery with the graves you were asking about some time this week/weekend. Please, if you can find some time this week before the weekend sneaks up, submit those photo requests of the graves you want me to find, so I have a list of what to look for...
(On a more selfish note, I'm trying to hit 100 for my count of fulfilled photo requests and since you did ask for them, maybe you could "formally" request them.. and I can finally hit 100!..?)

I will also be sure to write down what I see and spend some time looking at the old writing on them.

RE: Wurzer Family
Hi there!
Thank you for messaging me, these are the kinds of things I LOVE helping out with! I do not have a better version of that picture, BUT I drive back by the Fingal exit on the interstate every other weekend and would be happy to go back to that cemetery some time this month (May) and work on getting more photos, and/or write down the words..

Transfers are complete. So happy to match them up with family. Please let me know if you run across any other relatives and I'd be happy to transfer them.

Cemetery Scavenger #48265935 is the individual that added the picture to the memorial. I don't have the original. Perhaps leave her a message regarding the picture to see if she still has the original.

RE: Wurzer Family
I don't have any other pictures of it at this time. I was more concerned with getting the memorials started online so family could find them. I know a few other people have been getting pictures so perhaps we can get something clearer. I'm not related to any of the Wurzer family, so just send a transfer request through the edit tab on whatever memorials you would like transferred to you and I'll get it taken care of. :)

Jeff, I have transferred the Wallitners to you, although it is outside the FindAGrave parameters for transfers - if for any reason you can no longer manage these memorials please transfer them back to me to keep the cemetery intact. Thanks!
