Allen, the 15 crosses are cenotaphs. They are not buried in this cemetery. Most war casualties bodies were never returned home. Whether or not the men have marked graves in a cemetery in another location or not is unknown to me. Since they died in battle out of state, the odds are they are buried near their respective battlefields, perhaps in national cemeteries. After many battles, the dead were buried in mass graves for sanitary purposes, due to the sheer numbers. Hope this helps...The Wabash County Historical Society may be able to provide more info on the men...
