John Merry stone
Could you check the birth date for John. His stone reads he was 55 years old, yet the information shows in the write up he was 35. Thanks Nancy Lahr

It was by the Sharonville Museum where the train station used to be.

Yes. I visited the museum that had the new headstone placed. It was ordered by the Boy Scouts on one of their projects. When the VA got it, somebody read it wrong and put CSA on the order. The original did have US on it. The VA will not replace it because they refuse to admit it was their mistake. We are having to find a descendant in order to have a new stone made. So far, we are not having any luck on that point. The museum said that they would pay for the resetting of the stone. If you know of a descendant, please let me know. Thank you

He was definitely 4th Ohio Cav and UNION to boot! Somebody screwed up and placed a Confederate stone on him and listed on the stone that the 4th OVC was Confederate! I'll check into this and see if we can't get it straighten out. Thanks for the pic and the heads up.
