RE: Shoemaker - PA/OH
I changed the obit - thank you for correcting it. I suspect that the transcriber on the rootsweb site accidentally transcribed the wrong obit onto Andrew's.

I was subscribed to newspaper archive for several years, but now they have upped the price to $99 for six months. I paid $135 for two years. :( So I have not renewed my subscription - have not decided what I want to do about it.

Andrew Jr's baptism was at St. Mary's Church, and the baptismal records were transcribed by the Blair County Genealogical Society. You can purchase the publication from them. Or, you may want to check your local library's genealogy section and see if they have Father LeDeoux's six volume set of Catholic Church Records for Western Pa. It would be in there too - that covers both St. Marys and St. Michaels in one of the volumes and includes burials and marriages as well as baptisms. My library here in Ohio carries it. I was able to trace my 2nd great grandmother in Blair county to her birth town in Germany using those records, and as a result took her back another 4-6 generations, in spite of her having a common surname (Miller).

That is very very odd about the obit - I see that it does not match and yet the date does. I will have to dig up the original source. I took mine from the BGCS transcript - maybe the transcriber was tired and meshed two obits together by accident...

No time tonight and probably not tomorrow, but will see what I can do Wednesday and then will get back to you.

Hello,

The death info (date and cause) for Martin came from the Blair County Death Records (1893-1905).
I do not know his relationship (if any) to Andrew. However, I did a bit of searching tonight so I could add some more info to the memorials, and found two of the children's christenings in the St. Mary's Church records - John and Andrew Jr. In the latter both were called "Anthony." Places of origin in Baden were given for both "Anthony" and for Anna Keller - I have added these to the memorials. Hindelwangen is a suburb of Stokach.

BTW, if the photo you took of Andrew's side of the stone is clearer than mine, please post it. :)
