RE: Helen Hatlestad
I'm not related to Helen so will pass on managing her memorial. I was best buddies with her son Bob when we were 10 to 14 years old. We'd only see each other about twice a year.

RE: Possible relation
Yes! Leighann is my mother and Carol is my grandmother. This made me really happy to find a relative via this site, yay. Thank you for contributing with Emil's siblings and parent's names, I didn't even know he had any siblings, so this opened up a whole new world for me. And thank you, I've always loved to find out where I've come from. It's nice to finally meet you!

Possible relation
Pardon me if this is unsolicited, but I'm curious as we may be related. I see you have a slew of Schimkes you've managed and I desperately wanted to ask if we were related, because Emil Schimke was my great grandfather who died when I was quite little. It'd be cool if we were distant relatives somehow. If not, than this would be quite embarrassing lol.

RE: Jacob Dye #132960370
Thank you, Judy, for the offer of transfer but I am not related. I was looking for an obituary for someone else in the Vermillion area and came across Jacob Dye's obit. I am one who likes to see additional information for the memorials and, in many cases, make links to family members.

Thanks again,
Carolyn Wickens

That's him! The fascinating thing about that cemetery , my sons noticed is that the stones kept getting bigger and bigger, like they were trying to outdo the rest. Some of the spires are at least 30 ft tall. It's a spectacular cemetery . Giant office, they gave us a map so we knew where to find my gggrandparents , weird thing is my Dads and Moms are both buried there, starting 30 years before my parents were born ! Crazy!!

You're very welcome. The profile pic is from West Laurel Hill near Philadelphia ,Pa. My gggrandparents are there and this was nearby. It was life size and actually on a mans grave named George Perine I think. So beautiful . We were there a year ago this week for my nieces wedding.

Thank You!!
Hi Judy N.,
Thank you so much for your time in getting my Great grandmothers headstone Photo. I really appreciate it. I am interested in all the Crary's there and didn't find it when I was there several years ago but I was rushed at the time. I hope to go again soon.

Found a Nicholson newspaper clipping for Elsye Nicholson (63841588), I thought may interest you. Year of other articles from this scrapbook is 1951.

Bert Wanaka
Thanks for your photo. I think the Bert Wanaka that had no dates was a baby son of Bert Wanaka. I got this data from the Ellendale city website cemetery listing. The Bert Wanaka in your picture is there in another memorial. I will have to go back to research this to make sure I didn't make a duplicate entry. Will let you know.

Vern Bardell photo prob
there should be a flat granite military marker for him in this cemetery. It is a memorial marker as there is no actual burial, that may be why he is not on the cemetery list. I added the application for a military marker, you can take a look if you want. Thanks!

As you could tell, those requests have been out there for a little while, but not nearly as long as some of my requests have been. There are just some areas where there are no volunteers to cover them. Corson Co., S.D. is a big one. I have several requests there already and would like to make quite a few more, but have wondered if there's any real point to it. I shouldn't think so negative - someday someone there will catch on to Find a Grave, and those requests will be filled.
