I don't know. I don't know the family or area personally. I bet since they are side by side that they are kin in some way.

in memory of grandma
Nora Edith Smith Sr.
I too want to thank you for the headstone photo of Nora Edith Smith Sr. (I know Sr. is usually associated with men. I only used it because she has a daughter buried there with the same first and middle name as her mother.)

FYI, I saw the stone photo by accident tonight... I finally had a contributor hook another child up with Nora and checked out the link only to find the nice headstone photo that you did for her ...

FYI, contributor Kay and myself are related to each other through Nora's maternal grandparents. Kay is additionally related to Nora's branch through Nora's paternal grandparents too. (Brother & sister from one family, married sister and brother from another family.)

One of these days I should ask someone from your Cimarron paper if they have any story of Nora's death. Nora might have died in child birth. I only say that because she died in 1912, and a daughter Pearl Smith was born around 1912.

FYI, It appears that the widower stayed in the Cimarron area with the children after Nora died, then moved with some of the kids to California sometime after the 1940 census.

Again, thanks for the work you have done in the cemetery.

Hi Betty :
Give me just a few minutes & I'll transfer her to you.We just got home from a day spent @ Doctors appointments ,haircuts & running errands...yawning :-)
I personally don't pay much attention to the rules of Find A Grave & the family thing in regards to transfers etc.You knew her or of her so as far as I'm concerned,THAT qualifies a transfer as I have no idea who she was.I noticed she didn't have a memorial & did some research & found her obit & a picture of her & than had someone send me a picture of her stone & there ya have it & that's my story & I;m stickin to it :-)
