Infant Kerkvliet
The cemetery records do not have a record of Infant Kerkvliet. The Larchwood city clerk gave me the location of three infant burials, but none of them were a match. I sent an email to the creator of the memorial to see if she remembers the source of her information.

In the meantime, I will note your photo request accordingly. - Curt Phillips

In trying to fulfill your request for Carons in Calvary Cemetery, I found an Adeline, Cecelia, Mary, Joseph, Cornelia, and Alfred. Are any of these of interest to you?

I have an up close pic of the other half of the head stone with her 2nd husband (Joe) if you would like a copy send me your e-mail.
I didn't think it belonged on her grave page.

Arnold Kaiser
I found Agnes and Werner Kaiser in the Catholic Cemetery in Modesto, Ca. I asked the Office to look-up the brother Arnold and they didn't have a listing. There are 4-5 Cemetery all in the same location running into each other. I will check the files of the other cemeteries to see if he is located in one of those.

These people, George and Cora are already on the findagrave under Shinker. I added my photo to Cora's and also put it on your memorial. Georges site is #13436988 if you want to connect your site to him.

RE: Hollister IOOF Memorials

Thanks so much. Should have mentioned that the old elevated water tank is still standing by the Youngs - but I didn't know until the other volunteer, Sharon, said it was still there. Understand she gave detailed directions for finding Mary Quisenberry.

John H and Russella Young were Florence's in-laws. Not quite sure how the others fit into the scheme but had a look at the photos you put up.

Nice work! And very much appreciated.

Best, Barry

RE: Claims
Not a problem Mike! But the whole idea of "claiming a request" is to prevent others from photographing one that already has been claimed.

I concur, it does seem silly not to take the photo if you're already there, but again, once a claim is spoken for it's theirs!

Understand you are going back to take another photo of Florence's grave site, because of lighting issues when you were there ... Mary's grave can be found along the cyclone fence ... just walk along the gravel road beginning by the water tank, and follow the fence up to a plot acouple of sections after you cross over the next road. The grave site in front of Mary's and Jack's is barren dirt ... their grave is located nearest the little walk way!

The requester messaged me that you couldn't find her grave ... I suggested that he give you another chance!!

Good Luck! Am sure you'll be able to locate it now!

Best Wishes,

RE: Claims
Hi Mike!

Thanks for your note! I appreciated your comments! But let me clarify that I did not photograph the request you had claimed, nor do I photograph any claims that have already been claimed.

I had been working with this requester and the 5 or 6 names he had sent in, prior to him sending in those last two ... they were the ones you had claimed! One of the two, happened to be for Mary Quisenberry's. The requester had sent the request for Mr. Quisenberry, a day or two earlier, which I had claimed. He told me that he was sending Mary's, but when I checked, you had claimed it! That's why I did not post her photo!

I had told the requester where in the cemetery both graves could be found, and also had added that information to Mr. Quisenberry's photo (as I do on all photos I submit).

I do not have any problem with the requester passing the grave information onto you I don't mind helping others ... but I assure you I have never been a "claim jumper", so to speak! A term I've coined to describe a person who photographs requests already claimed! I only fulfill requests whic I have claimed.

As a side note, I always try to take an additional over all photo of any grave site I photograph, if possible. The purpose of which is to reference where a the grave site is located, within the particular cemetery where the photograph of the grave was taken.

In doing so, I've received many positive comments from those who write back, thanking me for the extra shot. The purpose of these "scene shots" is to provide and/or show reference points as to exactly where in the cemetery the person's grave is located, which would be helpful in finding the grave should they ever want to come visit in person.

Once a grave is claimed, those that have claimed the request have 14 days to fulfill their claim, per Find A Grave rules. So, Mike, rest assure I did not post Mary's gravestone, because you had already claimed it. I did provide grave site information for her husband's grave, who just happens to be buried beside her, but in a separate grave.

With Best Wishes Always,
Sharon, #47770935

RE: Hollister IOOF Memorials

Thanks for your efforts. Florence Young is close to an elevated wooden water tank and a wooden windmill tower the other volunteer says is still standing. Both structures appear in the 96 year old photos ...thought they would be long gone! She didn't take a photo of Florence's grave, but did take one of Mary Quisenberry's. I'll contact her to go ahead and post Mary Quisenberry's.

Look forward to seeing the one for Florence Young.

Best, Barry

Hollister IOOF Memorials

Don't know if you've made it to Hollister or not. Another volunteer has found one you claimed, Mary Quisenberry (she did the one for her husband Jack). Here is the plot information husband Jack and she should be right next to him: Plot: Block 8; Lot 55; Grave: 8

I don't have the same information for Florence Young who you also claimed. Here is some more info about her Florence nee Maggini Young (25 Dec 1893 - 6 May 1917). The list of burials on the San Benito Genweb page for IOOF have the dates 1892-1917. I have two photos of her grave site (but not the marker): one taken the day of the funeral and the other after the site was developed. There may be some clues keeping in mind things have changed over the intervening 96 years. I can send them to you by email attachment if I have your email address. You can contact me at
