Margaret B. Tyson foil pic
Would you let me use the photo you took of Margaret's stone that is wrapped in foil for a presentation? I would give you credit. I just would like an example of what someone can do to read a stone better. Thanks.

Ben Hamilton
Sorry, I don't have any information regarding where Ben Hamilton (who married Cynthia Bartlow) was buried. I have a cemetery book published by the LaHarpe Historical and Genealogical Society. This is the most complete hardcopy published record available, but I have found a few burials not documented in this book.

Nor can I prove that Ben died in 1873 - the year I've seen quoted. What I can document is that Cynthia was NOT listed with Ben and their daughter, Jane LeEtta, in 1870, and she wasn't listed with her parents. It's possible that she was simply missed, or her name was dropped during a copying of the census pages, OR it may indicate that Ben and Cynthia had separated. And that leads to the possibility that the person/s quoting a death year of 1873 were assuming that Ben died about that time.

Please contact me via e-mail if you'd like to continue discussing this family.

Andrea Reed
Wilsons in IOOF Cemetery
I took pictures of James Wilson and Margaret Wilson's headstones in IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria Indiana. You asked for a picture of the location so they would be easy to find. There were no adequate landmarks for this however, their headstones are right along side State Route 9 and can be found easily by walking along the road. Hope this helps!

Elmer Wilson Bushnell Cemetery, Bushnell, Illinois
Find A Grave Memorial# 120692686
I found Elmer Wilson grave and took a picture of it however, what dates are you looking for. There were two Elmer Wilson buried by each other. The first was Elmer (1879-1942) and Myrtle (1888-1945) and the second Elmer Ferrol (1915-2002) and Velma (1923-2005). I took pictures of both but I just want to make sure what picture to post thanks.

RE: Photo Requests
Hi Lance, I have added the family monument. My original photo is vertical, but for whatever reason, Find A Grave rotates it.

I saw you have a photo request for her. I created the memorial & took a picture of her stone but it was getting dark already & didn't turn out well. I remember where it was at the cemetary so will get a picture for you next time I am there if it isn't filled yet.

The sextant at Springdale is Darrell. His cell phone is 563-321-0555. He can tell you where any grave - marked or unmarked - at Springdale can be found. Normally he is does not work during the winter. You might wish to get the family to go together to mark the graves that are now unmarked.

RE: Bushnell Cemetery
Hi Lance,
The book I have is "Bushnell Cemetery, Bushnell, IL, 1982-2000." It was produced by the McDonough County Genealogical Society, January 2005.
It also contains maps, and some photos.
I do not have a cd, but one may be available.
I do not know if there are any books left for sale. The McDonough Co. Genealogical Society could answer those questions.
Their website is
Their hours are Tue 1-4pm, Fri & Sat 10-4.

I would also be glad to look up information for you.

Good Luck, Elizabeth

Hi Lance,

You did put in the request. I did not see it until later. I just got back from a month out of the country and am still a bit punchy from jet lag.
