We have the Northway Abbott's mixed up
Samuel Abbott (1805 - 1874)...
had Northway Samuel Abbott ( 1844 - 1877)...
he had Northway Abbott# 137123543( 1872 - 1940) who married Edith Maria Parnell(1886 - 1939) #137183102 ... they are the parents of Alice Edith Abbott ( 1920 - 1925) and Northway Walton Abbott ( 1822 - 2009)

Then William Abbott ( 1882 - 1968)and Bessie Magnin had Northway William Abbott (1908 - 1969)
Hope this is clear.
As far as I know Alice Edith Abbott, who died from diabetes, father's name was just Northway Abbott...no middle name. he and his wife both committed suicide over the death of their daughter. The wife used the gas stove after her husband went to a hospital...1939. Then one year later on her death anniversary, Northway hung himself in the basement? Kind of tough on their son Northway Walton Abbott... he was 17 when his mother died!

I didn't know about the Bronze Star Medal
There are facts to be learned... sometimes. I'll add that fact to his tree!

RE: George Abbott
This George William Abbott was the son of Ellen Kennedy Abbott and Northway Abbott. So, might be close to his parents?

Many thanks for Joseph McA Vance photo
Dear BScapin --

Thank you so much for taking the photo of Vance's stone. I regret that I did not have the location, and I am glad you were able to find it at 2 Rural Lawn. If I go back, does it require a visit to the Cemetery office, or is there a way to find Pittsfield cemetery locations online?

Thanks again for the photograph.
