You have no idea how grateful I am for the image you provided for Chester Smith at Jefferson Barracks. He was unknown for so many years until I finally broke through a brick wall. Now he can be remembered properly and forever remembered.
The gifts volunteers like you provide are wonderful. You've given me the gift of my 3rd Great Grandfather resting more than 900 miles away. I'd most likely never be able to visit his site on my own.

Thanks Brian for taking the time to serach out and photograph the tombstone of Lewis R. Mather, whose mortal remains were laid in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri. You are another example of the wonderful volunteers and contributors who have allowed me to see tombstones of graves of Central Illinois veterans of the Civil War who before I found out about Find A Grave I had no chance of ever seeing in person and little chance of ever even seeing a picture of. What you do is GREATLY APPRECIATED and will be so long after we are gone. Thanks for all you are doing. Sincerely, Baxter
