Susan R Perhala-Horry County Cemetery Registration
RE: Lucy lewis
Thanks Karen for not blasting me after I sounded so ungrateful.
We do this for the county here and it ain't easy fighting the bugs and the heat so I really appreciate your doing this.
The gurus at the courthouse tell us that the photos we take help identify where the stone is in the cemetery. So they encourage us to take our closeups but also take a photo of the full stone and that shows whether it's standing or lying flat on the ground, and shows that is around or near it. It's good advice for us actually because when we get back to the computer, it helps us figure out what goes with what.... a download of couple hundred photos can get very confusing, so we do a wide shot, then photograph anything on the back of the stone (sometimes there's something), then any footers since they may show a relationship like "mother and father", then closeup of the left side (if it's a double marker), then closeup of the right side... then if the next photo in the download is a wide shot, we know we're looking at a photo of the next stone, not the same one we were working on. Most folks don't do all this since the photos they go after are probably requests, but I wanted to share that with you. Not because I'm a know it all, but because I want to pass to you what it took me a couple years to learn how to do. Seems it took me about a full year to REMEMBER to check the back side of the stone. I still mess up. We went to 3 cemeteries this past Tuesday and several of us took photos of trees to separate the cemeteries... guess what, the wisteria was so beautiful in those woods that we don't know where one cemetery stopped and the next one began. Nancy and I decided we should photograph our hand holding up one finger for first cemetery, 2 fingers for 2nd cemetery, etc. Duh... live and learn.

Mike McQuaid
Mary (ann) Roberts 1866 1942 in Ford cemetery
Hello
The burial records show her as buried 9th May 1942 in section B (plot 141). Section B was a 'public' section where none of the graves were marked. It loos as though part of it is now being reused as there are modern graves in the top part of the section (none of them are for 'Roberts').
I have posted a photo of the general area on her page but as it doesn't help your research, please feel free to delete it if you wish.
The records show her last address (probably the place of death) as 112 Kensington Street Liverpool.
I hope this helps. Sorry it wasn't more successful
Regards
Mike

Mary E. Hall Carrington
Mary E. Hall Carrington is the Wife of Walter Allen Carrington who you posted a headstone picture to his find-a-grave site. This is a double headstone of W. A. Carrington and Mary Carrington and would appreciate if you could add it to Mary's memorial site on find-a-grave. Her number is 53030740. Thanks if you can do this and still have the photo. Let me know, she is my relative. Suellen B Dennis

Karen, thanks for looking in the heat & humidity. I have a remembrance card from his funeral. It states: "Burial, Bluestone Ch. Cem. Danielsville, GA." I didn't attend the burial so I'll try to track down some family to see if he was actually buried there or has a headstone. Thanks for the effort. W.

Doug Cromer
RE: Edward Roach
Hi Karen, I was on vacation last week.

You are right. I corrected the birthdate, Georgia was his 1st wife, Lona the 2nd, and this is the correct Edward.

If you have photo's for Georgia & Lona, feel free to create the Memorials. Then i can add the updates or you can transfer them to me. Whichever is easier.

Thanks for the extra work & the photo's.

Doug
