Neal photos for Lenora South Cemetery
Shar,

Thank you so very much for taking the 5 Neal photos and putting them on the Find A Grave memorials.

I do some for a cemetery near me and truly appreciate how hard it is to find the graves and take the pictures.

Would never have gotten the pics without you!

Bless you,
Martha Bray

Karen Bennett
Albert Gallatin Bennett request Norton KS cemetery
Dear Shar,
Yours is by far the best photo of my great granddad's headstone. May I copy it? A.G. Bennett was a blacksmith in Norton KS, one of the early settler families who arrived in 1872. The first thing that he did when he got a piece of property was to plant an L shape in oak trees from acorns that he brought from Ohio. I saw them in 1956 when I was a child of 10 visiting with many of my relatives out west. I tried to find the old farmstead again in about 1973, but without my dad to guide me to the farmstead, I couldn't find it. The best I came up with is that the townspeople then knew the oak trees, and called them Bennett's oaks. I just couldn't navigate the directions I got from the townspeople.

When A.G. died, they welded his anvil, hammer, and tongs together for his headstone.

Thank you in advance, Karen Bennett, great granddaughter (father was Clarence Warfield Bennett, who was born 1915 and grew up in Norton, grandfather Wm. A. Bennett, born 1866 Ohio and grew up in Norton, and greatgrandparents were Clara (Clarinda)Peterman Bennett and Albert Gallatin Bennett, both born 1840 and buried in Norton cemetery.

Eva Nosotti is buried in M1-1 between Kathryn Marti and Enos Kishego.
Louis Deems is buried in L-2 between Edith Howe and Kenneth Deems. Since they are not buried together and they already have photos attached, do you need anything else? Barb

RE: Fascinating, Thank You
Please post what you feel appropriate on Ancestry. I do not want to offend Samuel's decendants. As most Native Americans held the belief that having their photograph taken meant the camera would steal their sole I do not have any pictures of Harvey or Cyrell. I also believe this maybe why Harvey and Elizabeth do not have tombstones. May I ask where you found the information about Harvey whipping Samuel? I have never heard this. Would like to know though. Good or bad they all belong to me. It is so nice to communicate with someone who is a decendant of Mary whom my Great Great Great Grandpa spent the last years of his life :-)
