Frain, Delores & Joseph #117642554 & #117642504
Would you be willing to transfer these two memorials to me? I am a first cousin, once removed to Delores Frain. I have numerous photos of her and one of her husband that I would love to add to their memorials. And am hoping to use the tombstone photo, with your permission, on my Ancestry tree. I am trying to locate living relatives in the Niagara area and the transfer could potentially help with that.
Thanks for your consideration.

Enjoy.Children of veterans in the schools need a program. I having been working on ths with and the District for the State grantee. Including they need to be fed, house and clothed. Including those who are going though separation. They need a support group started. Fort Sam was my home along with SA before we transferred. TVC said they would fund it. Thank you.

St. Mary's Cemetery
Here's some info I found about this cemetery. It's officially called St. Mary's cemetery. The south side is owned by St. Mary's of the Cataract church. The north side was St. Raphael (which burned) and then rebuilt as the Church of the Sacred Heart. Today it's again called St. Raphael. They bought the land from Oakwood.

I was told by the people at Gate of Heaven and Mt. Olivett cemeteries that this is parish owned. Each parish is responsible for the upkeep not the diocese.

It gets more confusing because half of a family might be buried at St. Mary's and another member of family might be at "Riverdale" (according to their obit) --but that person is probably NOT in Riverdale and actually in Gate of Heaven. The Diocese bought land from Riverdale.

There are a couple of lists (that were done in 1983-84) with the names of those buried at St. Mary's that I am working from.

Hi Scot!
I have to take issue with your assessment of Riverdale Cemetery in your contributor bio, as regards their attitude towards Findagrave members. Several years ago, with previous office staff, that might have been accurate, but it is not consistent with my recent experience.

I have had a VERY POSITIVE experience with the current office manager. If you would like have more info to support this, please contact me at my personal email:

At the same time, I am pleased to acknowledge that I have also had a very positive experience with you and Pete Ames at Oakwood.

Hoping to hear from you by email.
Best Regards,

Hi scotdeerie

I found an obituary for your memorial on Mr. Alvarez in Front page of the Niagara Falls Gazette, Friday May 6, 1932. It is QUITE interesting. It even has a photo of him.

RE: Jeremiah Irons
He does not seem to be military as far as I can tell, but he is old enough to have fought in the War of 1812.

RE: Jeremiah Irons
I was going by information that an Irons family researcher had culled from his research. I've been mapping the Irons family that arrived in Massachusetts in the 1660s from England, and moved on to New York and then Michigan. It seems the Irons in Caldwell come from a man with the last name Irons who came from Ireland. I could be wrong as my research hasn't focused on any Missouri Irons people.

RE: Jeremiah Irons
I'm not sure. I'd hate to say it is when I can't make out more info on the stone. Thank you for looking!

One more question...some of the obits I found for Niagara Falls ancestors show burial in Memorial Park Cemetery butthat name is not listed in Cemetery lookup...Might it be renamed something else now?

RE: Elizabeth Ott
Morning Scott

What is the website you use to look up burial info..The other names I am looking for are Michael (1812-1892) and Elisabeth (1814-1894) FEDERSPEIL.

I have found a lot of burial info and dates on the free website with some "juicy" facts about family..try's addicting!

Mount Calvary in Cheektowaga has computerized most of the burials and it makes it so much easier to search...I've been working on taking photos and listing names in an Italian cemetery across the street from Mount Calvary contains so many of those headstones with the picture medallions and many have been damaged by some idiot with a BB gun...I was so thrilled when I found my husband's gr-grandmother with a photo and hope someone searching for their ancestor will get the same thrill.

Hey that I know that there is a headstone I will take a road trip in the spring...I don't know Elisabeth's death date and want to find out if her parents and siblings are there also, so I'll need to visit the office...Read your profile and have run into the same issues when trying to get info in some cemetery offices...I don't know where they get the impression that we get paid for taking these photos??...Thanks again!..Carol

Thank you very much for adding the changes to Clifford Melville Chambers. I agree with you that it needs to be noted that a Veteran died under those conditions. He had been out of work for some time.

Find A Grave Memorial# 115296059
Thanks for all that you do! I wonder if you can update the headstone record for ***Find A Grave Memorial# 115296059***.

Riverside Cemetery's administrator confirmed that Hazel V. Cameron is now laid to rest at this burial site. I would like a Find a Grave record for her if possible (she is my paternal-side grandmother, but Mr. Cameron is not a relative).
