RE: DNA
Oh, okay. No worries. I'm curious how they present the results and how that differs from Ancestry's test. Thanks Jim.

Do you mind emailing me a screenshot of your FTDNA results?

RE: DNA
Hi James. Ancestry.com is of no use when it comes to researching Polish ancestry, thatís just the sad truth. Iíve heard familysearch.org may have some microfilm you can rent for only very specific areas in Poland; of course they didnít help me either. Itís pretty much find a relative in Poland to connect with, or pay a professional to get it for you.

Those DNA tests can be quite helpful when it comes to confirming relationships with others. I did the test a couple of years ago and just had my father do it; I expect his results any day now.

In regards to trouble-makers on Find-A-Grave, just ignore them. Find-A-Grave automatically sends the edits that arenít dealt with in 30 days to the admins to process. My advice is to just create a duplicate memorial and/or send Find-A-Grave admins an email. Power-hungry folks on Find-A-Grave are nothing short of pathetic people who are rude and probably have no lives. Many members have refused my military edits, so Iíve learned to just stay away from certain people. Itís sad, really. I had one member tell me that ďshe formats her memorials the way she wants toĒ. Talk about ignorant, rude, and selfish!

Yes, Iíll accept your memorials should something happen to you, but letís not think about that. Youíre only a couple years older than my dad, and so I think you both have many more to come. I already created a memorial for myself, my partner, my parents, and others that I know will be going to a specific cemetery and/or cremated; I do this so the vultures donít add them before allowing me time to.

Thanks for the message, Jim. By the way, you have my fatherís name.

Thank you for deleting the memorial. I have found that sometimes Find A Grave has a "glitch" and doesn't come up with a search accurately. So in turn other Find A Grave members think I'm lazing & not searching.

Thanks for the headstone image.

Coash family on the memorial above.

I have posted a photo on his memorial. Please let me know if you want me to delete it. I don't want to leave it there if you don't want me to.
Thanks, Pam

Thank you so much for taking the photo of Randall Nolde's gravestone. I think it completes a memorial to have a gravestone included. I appreciate the time you took to photograph this.
Take care and thanks again,

RE: Checking in
Hi Jim,

Nice to hear back from you. So sorry to hear about the failing health of your mother-in-law, that's tough. I'm glad you're confident in who you feel is your biological father. Everyone deserves to know who their real parents were. My younger sister from adopted from birth (long story) and doesn't want anything to do with me or our parents; it's a sad situation, but life goes on. I'm having my father do an Ancestry DNA test (I already did one) so that I can see how results differ from mine. Oh, and I recently established contact with cousins in Poland, how cool is that?! They've given me SO much information that it's hard to keep up, but I'm loving it!

Have a nice holiday season, whatever you celebrate.

Mike

RE: LEIGH OBITUARIES
Thank you for your thoughtful response. And I understand the policy trying to protect the privacy of living individuals. If I re-write the obits into short bios, respecting the Find A Grave rules, can I have you post them to their respective memorials?
I appreciate your already making the additions to their memorials that I sent as edits.
Appreciatively,
Kathy Ripke

Mr. Bellert. First of all I would like to thank you for adding my father's grave marker to Find A Grave. I added a photo but would like to add additional info such as parents, obit, etc. Is it possible to turn this memorial to me to maintain?

Respectfully,

Howard C. Mueller

Hi James,

I appreciate the fact that their tombstone picture was even taken! I just wanted to let you know of the death year for John.

Intonation is not always easy to detect correctly in an on line message.

Thank you for your response!

Re: John Losin, Crystal Lake, IL
Hello,

John is my great grandfather on my paternal side. I was 4 when he died in 1979. You did not clean off the headstone when you got his information (if you see the picture, you have 1972).

I was born in 1975 and remember his service there in Crystal lake in 1979.

Please correct, thank you for your time.

Would like permission to use tombstone photo. If allowed how would you like photo credit given? My usual line is: photo credit belongs to and used with permission of Find A Grave member, then your name.
