Did I reply to your request to use my photo in January. There was some family health problems and I don't know if I answered you. I'm sorry if I didn't reply and of course you can use my photo. I take photos on Find A Grave for the families not for my own personal use.

RE: Berry Preddy Cemetery, Butner, Granville County, North Carolina, USA

Please do use the photo. I took these pictures during my attendance at the Banks Family Association reunion at the Methodist Church in Granville back in 2012. The cemetery stands in a very remote woods (one needs a 4x4 vehicle to get there), and was recently bush-whacked before my visit. If you have an interest, I can probably dig up the LAT-LON coordinates for you.

As you can see, there are several graves there, but just a few have proper gravestones. Most are merely crude rocks marking the graves.

Best regards,

Bob Sullivan

Cathy Cline
RE: Thomas Bank
Feel free to use any of my photos. This marker is at the Banks Methodist Church in Granville County, NC. He donated the land to build the church.

The other marker on the page is at the Preddy Cemetery in Granville but he is not buried there. John Sheftall, the Banks Family Association genealogist, has determined that Thomas is buried in the family plot at his home on Coldwater Creek in Elbert County, GA. There is no marker for him there, though. John is working on an update to the book on the family.

If you are interested, the family association has a web page

It also has a Face Book page, but it was set up under the name of Thomas Banks instead of the family association.

There is a nice video on there about Thomas' life.
