I did check caption you did a super job. I called the other family members to have them get on findagrave to check out how nicely you did. :)
Are you far from that cemetery. I have more people in the same family I would like pictures of. I was not sure if anyone could get the pictures. So I tried not to over ask for pictures. Bur I will be post more request for same cemetery soon.
Thank you so much GREAT JOB!

Hi Allan.. Thank you so much for both you and Joel Shore trying to clear this mess up. Based on yours and Joels notes I've moved Tom Holy Seplechre and posted yours and Joels notes on the memorial. I've also asked Judy to post a copy of the picture mentioned to Toms Memorial. I've also left a Thank you message on Joe's page as well. I really appreciate all the efforts put forth to solve this mystery.

|Joel Shore||Thomas Battles at Mt Hope|
I saw that you had been communicating with KBrownst about Thomas Battles and thought I'd fill you in on what we know: The notation for where he was buried is "StP" and stands for St Patrick's Cemetery. This link explains the whole story in detail: http://mcnygenealogy.com/cem/st-pat.htm and more discussion. Note in particular the sentence, "It seems that for the years 1838 - 1852 the records were used to record all burials in the City of Rochester."
As that link explains, most of the people buried in St Patrick's Cemetery apparently ended up at Holy Sepulchre...and there is a monument for them there that Judy Williams photographed for another St Patrick's memorial here: memorial #31976547 (Bridget Agan).
I am not sure why there is also a Find-a-Grave memorial for Thomas E Battles at the Mt Hope Cemetery at Fordsbush, NY, but the person who created that memorial (Daryl Verstrate, alias "Who Wants to Know") presumably originally created it from the interment records for Mt Hope Cemetery (Rochester), as he did for about 100,000 memorials here and then somehow it got reassigned to the other Mt Hope Cemetery, perhaps at someone's request. So, I think this is simply an attempt to correct an error (being that Battles isn't really buried at Mt Hope, Rochester) but creating another error in the process. (He's not at Mt Hope, Fordsbush either.)

He was originally listed in Mt. HOpe but someone told me all the burials had been moved and that he was now in Holy Sepulchre. this is really confusing.

Thank you for looking for a grave marker for John Kelly. I removed the request from Find A Grave. I didn't find his marker years ago when I visited the cemetery, but thought I might have overlooked it. Thanks again.

You're new! and you're terrific! Keep it up!
The photos you took of George Jarrett Footer & family were not only wonderful, but I can tell you cared. Putting pine needles inside the numbers & letters...what a painstaking wonderful way to get those old crumbly stone to be read.
Thanks so very, very much for the time & effort. Sorry it took so long to thank you for your mid-summer work, but I just found them. F.A.G. used to e-mail us when a photo request was done, but I guess they don't do that anymore.

Thank you so much for fulfilling my photo request for Mary and Alphonse Belanger. I live in Florida; so, without the help of wonderful volunteers who live back home in New York I would never be able to have the gravesite photos.
I truly appreciate you effort on my behalf.

In Rose's obit it says she is buried in Lake view and that is where I put her. I have a photo reques t in lake view with no response. If her tombstone is next to George's, I will move her to Holy Sepulchre. The obit can be wrong and it would not be the first time. Tomorrow I will try to call Lake View and see if she is there.
