Yes I do remember the old Phoenix hotel. I have been it when it actually was operating, but I think at that time (maybe in the late '50s), it was mostly a place where people rented a room long term rather than for overnight stays. I was born in '51 and left the area in 1970, but moved back and went to work for Lewis Grocer Co. in 1973. Then moved away again in '78 never to return again (except to visit). I really miss growing up there. It was a magical place (in my mind), but short on economic opportunities for my parents. They moved to Louisiana in 1970. I'm glad that I still know people there who I can stay with when I go up there. Can't wait to go back and catalogue the Moorhead Cemetery.

Yes, I really want to completely photo and index all of the Moorhead Cemetery the next time that I'm up. I did quite a few this time, but I also needed to go to Indianola City Cem for about 20 volunteer photo requests over there so I had to stop. Perhaps next spring, I will completely cover the entire cemetery. Anytime I do a volunteer photo and there are family members close by, it just makes sense to snap those even though someone else may have already photographed them and posted them on Find A Grave. You know my mother was a beautician in Moorhead for years and I'd be surprised if she didn't fix some of your relatives' hair over the years. I remember the name "Downer" and hearing it many times but can't put any faces with names (senility, I guess). But of course, my mother (Virginia Church Hughes) knew most everybody since she fixed most everybody's hair. Take care.

|Carolyn||Randall Lee Vining|
Seems Randall Lee Vining is father to Flora Elizabeth Vining who gave birth to my father Adrian Gordon Lee. I can't seem to find anything on Flora Lee on the location of her grave. Do you think you could help me? She passed away in East Carroll Parrish Louisiana. Her father Randall Lee Vining is listed and her name is listed as a child but no further information.
Many thanks for your help on this matter.

Just last night I was asked to delete the memorial you asked to be transferred. It was a duplicate memorial. The contributor says he is also a relative. Sorry!

It is very alright that you have it. I am glad that you are family and you deserve to manage it. She was only a friend and neighbor to us. I manage most of Union Cemetery, because we went to church there most of our lives and were married there. We know most of the people buried there. We only live about a mile from the cemetery. Really, I am OK with you having her memorial. Thanks for the offer. Take Care!

I have transferred memorials to you. These people were very special people to our family. Mrs. Effie was a very sweet lady. I didn't know Mrs. Brown, but knew her children, Mr. J. F. and my inlaws were very close. Mrs. Lucille was a dear friend to us. She and Mr. Verbon were Special. My husband grew up with Jerald, We knew Mr. Clifton and his first wife Erlene and also his second wife Mrs. Velma Lee, was our neighbor before she married Mr. Clifton. Also Mrs. Helen, she was so sweet and "she was a laugh a million" to be around. She and my husbands cousin Mattye were best friends. They are all having a time together in heaven today. Take good care of their memorials!!!!
God Bless You, Betty

Dorothy, thank you for the correct information about where he died. I have corrected this on his memorial.I never got to meet Robert, but my Dad and Uncles talked about him. I believe my Uncle Paul McAlister visited with Robert. Do you have any photos of Great Uncle Robert William McAlister? If so , my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org

I LOVE the picture you posted of LSC Marr Wade. Was Fannie her only child? She's the only one I've been able to find. Also, do you have any information on her husband and any other family? I had never heard what the SC stood for so it's good to finally know. Is the information reliable enough to add it to the memorial?

|Jimmy||RE: Laura Bell Earle #91258557|
Hello again Dorothy,
I have transferred Laura's memorial to you as requested. I took the liberty of transferring her husband Sam, also. Thank you for asking for them to be transferred into your care. In case you need to do it again in the future, in the upper right corner of the memorial is an "Edit" tab (looks like an index page tab). Click on that and then another set of choices come up, one of which is "Suggest a correction" (SAC). When you use that method, the message that is sent will automatically have the memorial number and your contributor number in it.

I believe that all memorials should be as complete as possible including links to family. I also believe that all memorials should be managed by family. If you would like me to transfer Laura's memorial to you, use the Edit/SAC button on her memorial so all of the links I need will be right there and I will be happy to do so.

|Carole McCaig||Dorothy Blair transfer request|
I'm sorry to have to post here but there isn't an email listed for replying directly to you. We've had so many problems with transfers that we ask for the relationship of those requested so may try to stay within the Find A Grave guidelines:
To document the date and reason for transfers, and hopefully prevent deletion of memorials and the family squabbles we've previously experienced, to request transfer of a memorial, please leave a message on my contributor page including the memorial name & number, and your relationship, name & member ID. (Remember the Find A Grave guidelines: Requests should be for direct relatives, within four generations, your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.)
Thank you for your understanding,

Wow, we're related!!! She's my GGGg'mother. She has been a deadend for me in my research. Do you have information on her? I know she was a Marr but I can't find out any more. I'll transfer both she and Mary to you as you are a generation closer than me. Jenny was my ggrandmother. Would love it if you'd share your family information with me. Thanks!

Mattie, I live in Dallas but was taking follow up pictures in Section 11 of Forest Hill Midtown on June 7, 2013.
Our family has about 15 relatives in Section 11, but to date we have taken over 2000 pictures of that section to help people like you that can not visit their family.
So glad my family's efforts are not in vain.

I transferred the William III memorial to you. You might notice that you can't find the father and grandfather. It is because they are spelled wrong in the memorial title. Do a search for FortINberry and you will find the missing generation. I tied III to JR and his mother before I transferred the memorial.
Hope you have a great day!
