RE: Rachel Lehner
Hi, Faith,
The way I do it is:
1. I take a photo of each gravestone.
2. If the stone is not all that readable, I will make a paper record of it also
3. Then the lengthy work, I download the photos on the computer, label them.
4. Then I go on Find A Grave, go to the cemetery, and click on Add names to cemetery.

It takes a long time. I just got done right now putting in 57 pictures from Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga. It's taken me most of the evening.

Hey, I think I've seen the baseball player stone. What is his name?

Faith, check on the site to see if the grandparents are in there. If not, then I haven't gotten to it yet or it could be buried. A lot of the memorials I have to dig out if they are flat gravestones.

I've decided I won't have a flat stone because they end up being covered up by grass, etc. What a waste of money for the family.

Too bad the cemetery doesn't maintain these sites and make sure they are always visible. But that's the world we live in today.

Hi, Faith,

What I've been doing is two rows a week until I get a section done. It is so time-consuming though. How I got started was I got a request for a photo over at Lakeside Cemetery and when I went on Lakeside's site on Find A Grave there were only 100 memorials. Well, when I got to the ccemetery, I knew there had to be at least 20,000 memorials there. So then I decided I would just concentrate on that one cemetery and try to get as much of it done as I can.

I'v done all of Section A, Section B-1, B-2 and I'm now working on Section B.

When I get a message from someone like yourself, I feel like it was worth the effort.

Hi Faith......

I've put your GGrandfather's dates in for you. You can't do it yourself because you didn't create the memorial. In order to create memorials of people that are not all ready listed is to become a member of findagrave. I could then transfer the memorial to you to add additional info OR you can send the info along to me and I will be VERY happy to enter it for you. You CAN add pictures to memorials on your own without having management of the memorial. Some people like this.......others don't. My way of thinking is that if a person wants to add another picture of the marker themselves that it be a good quality picture. I love seeing old photos that people add. Well, anyway........as I said.....I'de be very happy to enter other info. The other people buried there with him and his wife......do they have stones? My Ancestors are buried in that same area of the cemetery and have no stones.

Take care....

Donna
