|Elaine McNally||RE: Atkins|
Edward is my ancestor too! My mother is an Atkins. I wish we could find old Edward's gravestone. An Atkins cousin of mine, the one who found Thomas and Nancy's gravestones, thinks that he is buried in the same plot or near Thomas and Nancy. I will be in Lexington this summer, to visit relatives. I am planning to go to the Stamping Ground Baptist Church cemetery to visit their graves. How are you descended from Edward? I am descended through Thomas and Nancy's son, Dudley A Atkins. Are you descended from one of Thomas and Nancy's daughters?

|Elaine McNally||Curious about your obituary collection|
Hi. I have been doing research on my family and I keep coming to your entries on Find A Grave. I notice that you manage quite a few memorials for the descendants of Thomas and Nancy (Shackelford) Atkins, including the daughters and their descendants (Dalzells, Goddards, Gardners, etc). They are great! I really appreciate all of the details. Who did you get your obituaries from? Are you an Atkins descendant? Did a relative of yours save the obituaries? I have a great grandmother was also saved lots of things - postcards, letters, newspaper clippings, etc. These sorts of collections are treasure troves. Thanks for the great Find A Grave details!

|Clinton Slayton||John Goddard land in Scott Co KY|
Well, you are technically correct, but I think you should remove the note, because in anticipation of receiving this land from the GLASS estate, he (over the leaf of the GLASS deed page) transferred all of this 112 acres to John Jones, a well-known tavern/inn keeper. I do not think this John Goddard (of Great Crossing) ever retained any lands that approached what became the northern precincts of Scott Co. This was a paper transaction for legal purposes, he had committed to sell it before it was ever transferred to him.

Thanks very much for updating the memorial with the land record, this can help me with a mystery regarding a gravestone for a Lytle's Fork resident that was sent to "Godard, near Georgetown."

I received your message about the parents of Eulah Davidson. There are 2 James Davidsons in the Masonic Cemetery. I was wondering if you knew which one is her father.

|Theresa Caudillo||RE: Nancy|
Freida, I am wondering if the information you have could be incorrect? The Nancy I am looking for was an Alsop by birth. Then she married Thomas Jefferson Darnell. He died in 1874 & is buried in the Alsop-Perry family cemetery. So Nancy would have been a widow in 1880. When she supposedly married Thomas Dalzell Jr. My Nancy also had a brother by the name of Austin. I double checked the 1850 census. Which lists both Austin & Nancy on it. So I can only wonder if somehow the information got turned around somehow. Also Austin. Nancy brother was married to a woman by the name of Sydney. If you have any further information or suggestions as to where I could find information on Nancy. I would greatly appreciate it.

|Theresa Caudillo||Nancy Alsop Darnell Dalzell|
I am looking for the burial place of Nancy. She was married to Thomas J Darnell my 2nd great uncle before she married Thomas Dalzell. I just recently found TJ Darnell grave site but have not had any luck with Nancy. I do know she died sometime between 1900 & 1910 according to the census of Scott co Kentucky. I have looked under her maiden name as well as both her married names. If you have any leads on her I would greatly appreciate it.

|crawlings||Lucy Estill Knight and Rollie Ford Knight|
Frieda, I'm a Metts descendant. My grandmother was Callie Metts who married Ezekiel Rawlings. I am researching the Metts family and have seen some information you have put out. I am in the process of requesting photographs for the Metts' listed on Find-A-Grave and just wanted to share with you that there is no marker for Lucy Estill Knight and Rollie Ford Knight. I thought maybe you would want to make a note to that effect on Find-A-Grave so others won't spend time looking for a marker that isn't there. Thanks.

I live in the house on Minor's Branch where you used to live. I have been told by several people that there was a grave in the side yard. Do you remember anything like that? Do you know who it was and where the stone went?

I've transferred the 2 Dalzell's you requested. If you would like to have any more of them, just let me know. I set them up as part of the Scott County Cemetery Project and don't have a personal connection to them like you do.
