Question for you Edison, my father wants to know if the caretaker "Violet" may still be alive? Or is there a new caretaker?

Edison, welcome to findagrave and I hope you enjoy it and learn as much as I did. Regarding the reason why, I will take my grandmothers advice and keep my mouth shut where it won't accomplish anything. I think you will enjoy it and see a lot of interesting things.

Thank you very much for the photo of Lt. Col. McGlinn's headstone.
He was a Major during WWII as part of the 40th Bomb Group, 58th Bomb Wing, XX Bomber Command.
On August 20th 1944, while attempting to return from a mission to Yawata, Japan, McGlinn and his B-29 crew were forced to bail out over Siberia. They bailed out in the dead of night, into a part of Siberia that was totally uninhabited. His crew was split into several groups, and survived by eating bugs, worms, frogs and whatever else they could find.
Eventually they were all "rescued", only to be kept by the Russians for an extended period of time with over 100+ other US airmen. This treatment was very hard on McGlinn, which makes me wonder if this contributed to his seemingly early death at the age of 58.
His complete story is on the 40th Bomb Group web site (www.40thbombgroup.org). Just search for "McGlinn".
