RE: Lockhart edits
Oh, ok. I didn't think you were, but wanted to be sure. I completely understand if someone doesn't want certain information posted because of a personal problem. Thank you for letting me know and sorry if there was any inconvenience. I am preoccupied with genealogy from northeast Indiana, so it keeps me busy, but it's fun.

RE: Lockhart edits
I am not sure what edits you are referring to, as I have so many pending, but I only take and process information readily available online from obituaries, death certificates, social security indexes and other pertinent documents. It is not my intention to falsify information, if you are accusing me of that, I am just trying to correct or add information to memorials that are erroneous or incomplete.

Adella Sleek
My tree on Ancestry (Ratley/Lacroix Family Tree) has the documentation that I've found for (Frances) Adella Sleek. It includes census records from 1880, 1910 and 1920, as well as marriage records for her marriages to William Rottger (1860-1949), Otto Dohms (1860-1929), and Wilbur Fuller (1868-1941). I haven't been able to find Adella on the 1900 census. William Rottger's 2nd wife was my husband's 4th great aunt.

RE: Theron Hawley
Hi,
I am no relation to Mr. Hawley, but we found some old newspapers in my in-laws things, and thought we would send the edits from that. I try not to send edits unless I am sure of the information.
Many thanks,
Jane

The Muncie Star, Saturday, Feb. 10, 1968

HAWLEY FUNERAL WILL BE SUNDAY

RE: Gary Stittsworth
Yes, your memorial was merged with the memorial contributed by SeaFox. If you choose, you can verify this by clicking on the asterisked "Gary A Stittsworth" link under siblings on your memorial. (Normally this would have been deleted, so there is a glitch in the Find A Grave database.) Also, I deleted my duplicate flower.

I see that the photo volunteer Whitt2 has already posted a photo of the top of one side of the headstone. If you would remove the cemetery photo, she could post the other, as well.

FYI - From the Find A Grave FAQs: "How many photos may be added to a memorial page?
The number of photos that may be added to a memorial page depends on the type of memorial. Up to 5 photos may be added to the memorial pages of individuals who are "non-famous," if the memorial is not sponsored."

Anyway, thank you!

Gary Stittsworth
I was wondering if you would remove the photo of Gary which you placed on his memorial (#127154813). When your original memorial was merged with the duplicate, both photos were retained. And the other seems much brighter and clearer.

I am making this request because I want the photo volunteer to post a photo of the top of his headstone. And, as you probably know, there is a limit to how many photos can appear on a memorial.

I'm assuming that you knew Gary from church. The photo volunteer and I were his classmates (and Marti's). And I think I know who SeaFox is - another classmate.

Anyway, in this way we will all have made a contribution to his memory.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Joseph Cemetery/Muskingum
The photos taken were from a cousin, and used by permission. A year later I met up with her and she took me to the cemetery. The photos taken were ALL of the stones she and her team uncovered… so your Karns headstones probably do not exist. IF they do, they are under years of growth and dirt. They are also exactly as explained: private property with more than a football field's worth of a hike. They are on the property "adjacent" to the guy we got permission from. Between the time my cousin photographed the stones and when I went there (I'm from Utah so I visited the site in 2012) it was even MORE overgrown and now fenced with a barbed wire and mesh that I was NOT willing to climb… so I didn't even get close to the stones. The man who we got permisson from DID climb the fence and stood in the thick brush with a red had (which I photographed) … but was almost completely unviewable even with my good eyesight. Since it was NOT on the guys OWN property and I was not dressed in proper attire to climb a fence and risk my clothes becoming shredded, I opted NOT to get close to the stones as my cousin had already photographed them.

I'm sure my cousin and the team that took the photos exhausted all efforts to photograph what they did. I think this would take quite a feat of effort with the county or township to revive this little cemetery… my hope was to get close and see if another line of my descendants were buried there as I cannot find their burial records anywhere.

Sorry I can't help more that with the information I have knowledge of.

I don't think they would be there, because I photographed the entire cemetery.

RE: McEntarffer/McAndarffer
Well, good luck with this one! This is the one surname that has given me fits, too. Lots and lots of variations. I have found Lewis's book to be helpful but with many errors. Think about it...she walked every cemetery in Steuben Co. and recorded all the stones she could read on a 3x5 index card. By the way, I recall that the name of the lady I sent you has her index cards for Hamilton!

I appreciate you spending the time to take and post these nice photos. However, those photos aren't of the correct people's markers. On Daniel's memorial is a photo of David (#145008936), which already has a photo, but you might want to add your close-up. The photo you put on Elizabeth's memorial is of David's wife, Elizabeth (#145008971) and belongs there. Thank you for trying.

Hi,
That happened with my maternal grandparent, her family dropped an E but it was added back in.

No, I don't have a burial for her, but to be honest, I haven't had time to work on it. I've been a caregiver for my parents the last 5 years. The last 4 with just my Dad.

Christine, yes I am related to Mary. She is also a cousin to me. I have made the connections to the family. When I created her memorial I search for her parents but was unable to find them. I seen that you added them a few months after I created Mary's memorial.

RE: Thank You!
I took the photos of the other headstones when I was there for my dad's funeral.

I'm just getting started with Find A Grave. I've been working on my family history off and on for several years. I now have a friend interested in her family history and we are working together. We hope to help other by photographing other headstones and posting them. (Once the weather gets a little cooler.)

I really hope I can return the favor if you find your relative who moved to Oklahoma!
