RE: Family of Dr Henry P Smith
Tess, I don't know where Henry's parents George and Martha are buried. I'm not researching this family. We have a vacation home on the Caney Fork River and I've walked the cemeteries around the area and photographed many of them but I'm not related to any of them. I'm a native upper mid-westerner. Ironically, we are leaving in the morning for a month in TN. (no promises but I'll take the information with me & if I can locate anything I'll forward it back to you) I did some digging and see that the family was in Rutherford Co. in 1850 then moved into McMinnville in 1860 & 1870 census and finally, Martha is living with son James in White Co. in 1880. (Wm G, wife Amanda & Cinthia are in the 1900 White Co. census) I found the marriages for Henry, William and Martha. James was married to a Nelly but I didn't locate his md. record.

I was looking for information on Cumberland Presbyterian Church where the bio on Wm says his brother James was a "popular" reverend. I found Henry, Cinthia and W.G. in these two links as members of this church:

http://www.danielhaston.com/places/churches/oldunion/oldunion-register.htm

http://www.danielhaston.com/places/churches/oldunion/people/members.htm

My thought was that if perhaps James was located in a certain church, he may be buried near that church along with his parents or at least his mother since she was living with him in 1880.

Hope this helps & if I do find anything I'll get back to you.

Thanks for your message. I didn't get hit by the tornado personally but friends did. It is a slow rebuilding process because if winter weather but there has been such an outpouring of support here. I haven't had the chance to do much research but will get back into it one day soon and let you know if I can find anything more.

RE: Cole Family
Hi Tess,

There is a very good possibility we are distant cousins. My Cole connection is with William Rodden Cole and Rebecca Fowler in Mississippi; Their son William A. Cole and his wife Sarah Tennessee Tully Cole (Arkansas) to their daughter Sallie Belle Cole Spears (Arkansas.).

Here are their F.A.G. sites:

Rebecca Fowler: 116591885

William A. Cole: 27914833

Sarah Tennessee Tully Cole: 27915291

Sallie Belle Cole Spears: 35787812

I have an ancestry.com account with a public tree and you are more than welcome to take a gander. I have yet to do a more in depth research on the Cole line (More cursory.) I've been concentrating on other family lines but I do intend to trace down William Rodden Cole's ancestry.

Thanks for the additional information! I could not find Steadgart listed as a city or county, so I entered it in his bio. If you can think of a better way or if the spelling is incorrect, please just send me another EDIT. Keep up the good work. cj

Christy Winchester # 46478893 is very slow to respond. If at all . Write find a grave address( info@findagrave.com )and explain that you request a transfer of a family member . Always give member numbers or memorial numbers in any correspondence . I noticed you need an e-mail address because public messages can become long and involved . Best wishes ,cc

Tess I was not able to get to the cemetery early enough to get a better photo but I did determine with certainty that the stone shows 1908 rather than 1903. Nice piece of genealogy work on your part.

Tess, I took my original photo and zoomed on the date and it is still difficult to determine but I think it more likely it is 1908 as you suspected. I will be back in the area in a few days and I will check it. Thanks for your message.

Ralph Gentry was my step-father. I have made 4200 Findagraves for the Neodesha City Cemetery so far. I am more than happy to enter any information you wish. Stepbrother Gerald Gentry has some pictures but I doubt they would apply.

RE: CASHMEYER
I found some of your Cashmeyer and Kinne today and am adding the photos and obits. I also found Bertha E. Cashmeyer Baker Thornhill. She was born 7/13/1891 and died 11/21/1959. She married Clarence A. Thornhill after her first husband died. She is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Someone has already created a memorial for her on here #66214438. I failed to get the photo of Dollie Fenton today but will add her to my next trip for you. I can also get James from the Abingdon Cemetery. I can also get Katie for you if I can find where she is buried (if she stayed local - she lived in Peoria). I'll let you know what I find. Also - I have some additional Kinne photos that didn't have memorials on here yet - let me know if you want those.

RE: Col William Gooch Smith
I have linked the children to him & his wife that I could. I do not maintain Corine Smith Reeves' memorial, but I did let the owner know the links for her parents. Hopefully, she will do that soon. Good luck finding the other children.

I then transferred all of them to you.

If I can be further assistance, let me know.

Happy hunting!

Cashmeyer
I am not related to the Cashmeyers, this cemetery is located not far from where I live, I used to go there fairly often (my husband and mother are there), enter memorials and take photos, but several others started working it, so I moved on.

Many of the memorials and photos I enter are not my family, I enter to help others locate theirs. I know how much I appreciate it when I find a memorial for a member of my family that someone had been kind enough to enter. I have been fortunate lately and have found several.

Don't worry about errors you might make, I know we all try very hard to enter the information exactly, but it does happen and hopefully if we don't catch it, someone will and send a message so it can be corrected.

If I can be of help, let me know. Happy hunting and recording! cj

Edward Lucille Baker
Hi Tess: Thank you so much for posting the info on Edward Baker. Yes we are related, she is my husband's Mother, Edward Lucille Baker. I edited the dates on the find a grave topic. I never put that picture or the info on the Find a grave spot. We have all of her info. Are you related to her? Do you need any pictures? If so let me know. My e-mail is peglbaker@att.net. Thanks again. ( I have to learn how to put a photo on the internet.)

re: Nannie Hill
Hi Tess, didn't see any email to message you with. A group of several from around TX was trying to catch up memorializing at the cemetery where Ms. Hill is. There are well over 100,000 buried there and not even half were online when we got together to start work on it. It has been a long process, but it looks like we have the bulk of the work done for the most part. In one case, which includes Ms. Hill, one of the contributors had taken pictures of the graves in the section but found she had little time to get memorials of them done, so she had others, including myself, share in the process for that. I wish I had specifics to help you for Ms. Hill, but I don't, and I am no biological relation. I appreciate your note and concern, and while I usually follow FindAGrave's guidelines regarding transfers, I'll send Ms. Hill's your way. Thanks again. --John

I transferred two out of three. One I did not post.
It would be so much better if you would use the Edit and Suggestion, that way it will go to the person that posted it. Also the person would not have to look up what you are asking for, because it would be in the message.
But I am glad to connect people to their family in any way possible.
