RE: Payne grave request
No, it's not overgrown at all. They're up there mowing Maple Hill all the time! It's just those flat stones in the ground sometimes get overtaken by that kind of grass. If there's no family nearby to visit the grave regularly to stop it, sometimes such as that happens.

Anyway, I took care of it so it should take quite a while before it happens again.

Pam,

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help you out.

You can't tell from the picture, but right before I took it your grandmother's stone was completely overgrown with grass! It was totally invisible. I figured it was there beside the other one, so I stuck my hand down in the grass until I felt the hardness of the stone beneath. I should have taken a photo of what it looked like before I dug it out with my bare hands and brushed it clean. I seldom see stones that were so grown over like that, especially one that's not even 25 years old. Powerful grass we have there in Sesser!

By the way, don't overlook the close-up photos I posted of each stone by itself. You have to click the link that says there are more photos to see it, as it was bumped off of the main page of the memorials. I just wanted to be sure you knew they were there.

RE: Mason H.
I came up with Mason by talking with Pee Wee Rhodes. I think he told me that Jasmine had researched the family and that Dock was Mason Rhodes. I found Mason H. Rhodes in the 1900 census. I too has trouble finding out who Dock was when I photographed Jerusalem Cemetery.
Hope this helps
Jerry
