Hi! Thought I should advise you that Mary K. Witherbee and Nina W. Mandy in the "Branches and Twigs, the Newsletter of the Genealogical Society of Vermont" got the name of this cemetery wrong. They for reasons unknown called it the "Mill Brook Cemetery" CRid=2491163.
The correct name is, and has been since the cemetery was created, the Sherman Cemetery. See CRid=2514024
Also, the descriptions and notes under "Mill Brook Cemeterty" are no longer accurate- the cemetery was restored by the Town of Moriah almost 3 years ago.

There has been a photo request for this individual. Martha is listed as being buried at the Cherry Valley Cemetery in Leicester, MA. But the bio states she is buried in Pine Grove in Westborough, MA. I'm not sure how she got placed in Cherry Valley. I have covered the Cherry Valley Cemetery and she is definitely not there. Could you please moved her to the correct area. Thank you.

Thank you for your interest.
I am uncertain as to any corrections you suggest, but assure you that I have intended to provide very basic information regarding the gravesites as debates have existed for centuries. I chose to present an uncomplicated description for their burial site. The wills etc. are all available to researchers , and have been to all Stanton descendants for sometime, who can go to any research lengths they wish.
Wequetequock is a place of peace and Thomas and Anna must both be chuckling over this sort of thing.

You sent me a bio on this person. But it is somewhat confusing. You seem to have two Julias dying at two different times.?

Are you related to Warren?? I already have a page up for him and his parents have one too, I just didn't know where they are buried.

I'm assuming that your photo of Grandma Demars is of Justina Durrum. Would it be OK if I copy it to her page on my Ancestry.com tree?

Hi- been 3 months since I requested of Findagrave to transfer/combine the listings from the nonexistant " Mill Brook Cemetery" into Sherman Cemetery - nothing has been done. I'm not sure what the next step should be.

I would like your permission to copy your photo of the headstone for George Demars. I wish to attach the photo to his entry in my Ancestry.com tree. The photo will not be used for commercial purposes and I will attribute it to you.

When you walked in to the cemetery to take photos what did the sign say over the entrance?
By the map posted for Mill Brook it appears to be the same cemetery.
The maps at this moment are going through a glitch of not showing but I can check this out elsewhere and enter a fix.
Looks like the same family to me but I am only going by transcription as was the person who started the Mill Brook cemetery.
I hope that makes sense.

Not to worry-
Sherman Cemetery is the current and proper name for the cemetery an the beginning of Crowfoot Road just over the bridge from Ensign Pond/North Hudson Road.
I checked this with both the Town Historian and with the Town of Moriah Buildings & Grounds Dept.(which maintains the cemetery) before I posted the photos.
Hope this helps.

Hi Pam -
You are so very welcome! I am always happy to help.
I am a bit behind on my corrections/transfers because we have been busy working on our house, but I am going to try to get caught up today. I will get the rest to you soon.
Have a wonderful day!

Love finding little cemeteries like that. Great idea photographing them and bringing along the grandkid! haha, I bet he will get into it.
I've been working this week on a cemetery for a couple years now, it's a big one, probably close to 10,000 people. It's in my old childhood neighborhood where we used to ride our bikes and play and I've always liked it there by the water.
I started photographing this week again while on vaca and I noticed they created a whole new flower garden and walkway along Crystal Lake in Gardner. I think a wealthy owner of one of the plots paid for it.
But I find so many flat stones that are sinking and I love pulling the grass away from them and kicking the dirt back into the corners so I can read the stone and asking "Now, who are you?" and snapping the shot.
Talk to you soon, thanks again for the stories, can't wait to quiz my Dad.

It saddens me about all the lost talent and skills getting buried six feet under every passing day. I kick myself all the time for not going to a trade school.
So how were the grandkids? How is find-a-grave treating you?
Added by Ryan-O on Aug 17, 2013 7:28 AM
Wow, that's some interesting info. I appreciate that you took the time. I'll ask my Dad more about it too. He's retiring to Arizona soon. I'm helping to clean out his current place.

Thank you so much for fulfilling my requests. I find it so weird that I just requested these last week, that I just heard from you on find-a-grave 2 days ago and you of all people fulfilled them.
I appreciate the help. I just had a family reunion and Jessie Ward Chamberlain and her Ward family were part of the discussion. Just really amazing timing.
I added the Chamberlains that you said you found that I actually had data on: Alice, Charles, David and Helen. I also put in photo requests for them if you'd like to fulfill those as well.
You should definitely add the other Chamberlains: Asa and Sophronia, Chester, Harriet & Carrie.
This is find-a-grave. You found graves and photographed them, you should make memorials for them. :D
p.s. I hear you about the children listing. It is nice to have them listed all in the same spot all in order of birth, but it just doesn't work out that well on here sometimes.
Added by Ryan-O on Aug 04, 2013 12:12 AM
Yes it can be frustrating at first when trying to make links to all the children, but Find-a-Grave was first set up as only a grave registration site. It evolved adding the family links a couple years later. Once you become a pro you can link, in the biography using HTML code, to a child's memorial if the creator of the memorial is not responding to requests.
You are supposed to give like 1 month for them to respond. I suggest reading the frequently asked questions for find-a-grave on their main page. It answers a lot of questions and you can search for the HTML code I was talking about and try using that! It's a sneaky way around the issue.
I just transferred Doris to you.
Talk to you soon, off to work.
