I wanted to say THANK YOU for the photo of my Great Aunt's headstone. No one in the family had any photos of her or her gravesite. Very little is remembered about her, unfortunately those that knew her have passed away.

RE: Grave Site Numbers
I think you're right - since I've not been able to get up there, you know what the challenges are to locating burials.

In my effort to keep things simple, I've merely identified each burial with the letter of the section, a space, and then the grave number - example: A 501. In our regular national cemeteries, it's nearly impossible to locate a loved one without the grave site number. But this one may be different - oh, how I wish I'd been able to get up there this past Spring...grrr

Since a marker number is actually inscribed on the marker, maybe it should be added to the 'marker inscription' section of the memorial? What do you think?

This current batch that I've come across has 18 burials where the inscribed marker number does not match the actual burial location. Of these 18, there are twelve memorials entered (most are yours)and 6 that I'll be entering shortly. Please let me know your thoughts so we can be consistent with our entries.

Thanks bunches,

Grave Site Numbers
I just want to let you know that there is a 'group' of interment cards for burials that were moved from Ft. Keogh which have incorrect grave numbers. I've been sending you the changes but want you to know that you had the number correct as per the cards but not where they actually are in the cemetery. Otherwise, your memorials and especially your photos, are great!

Thanks so much!!!

I must tell you that your photos are fantastic! I know from experience all the deep knee bends and/or crawling around you're doing to get these great shots. Since I can't hold out for the sun to be 'just right', sometimes I make my husband hold up a large piece of cardboard to create an 'even' shot. LOL He's such a good sport ~ I'm a lucky lady - LOL

Thanks again - you're doing a magnificent job ~

I have several memorials that need photos - do you happen to have a database already? I don't want you to make a special trip out there just for me as these are memorials I entered in anticipation of making my own trip there this past May. I will put in the photo requests so you can have the proper credit but don't feel like it is urgent - okay?

Thanks again for all your work and help getting these veterans and citizens properly memorialized.

RE: Bernard Rourke Photo
You are correct - this is another case where the records were not properly copied and the name was changed over the course of moving the remains from one cemetery to another. I've made a note of this on the memorial ~ thanks, Diane

Photos at Custer Nat'l Cem
Thank you so much for the wonderful photos taken at Custer National Cemetery. I was up there this past May but was unable to go to the cemetery due to the snowstorm which began during the night we (my husband & I) were in Hardin. When we awoke the morning of the 7th, the snow was coming down and there were several inches on the ground. Therefore we had to immediately turn around and try to outrun the bulk of the storm.

I have to say, I was so very disappointed as that was the main point of our vacation in Montana this year. But I'm very grateful that you have taken these photos and look forward to getting back up there to experience this place myself.

Thanks again,
Wife of 2Xgreat-grandson of David Cronin - Grave A501

RE: Memorial Edits - Custer Nat'l
Thank you so much! This cemetery has become a 'project' for me as I've found so many memorial entries to be incomplete and/or incorrect. I have access to several resources that back up the information I send, so please do not hesitate to contact me if need be.

Thanks again ~
