Hi Bill,

Thank you for doing such a grand job on Find A Grave. I suspect we will find that you and my husband are related. He is the grandson of Willard Maneval and Martha Miller. You have created a memorial for their son, Edward. I'll do one for Lillian, their daughter and my husband's mother who died in Dec.

Keep up the good work. Isn't it fun?

Hi Bill, I transferred him to your care, it is evident that you are doing research and trying to link family! Great job, that's what we want! May you have a Happy New Year! Luella

Thank-you!
Thank-you Bill for locating my Aunt Anne Wright's grave, and taking a photo of it. I appreciate your help and dedication towards finding graves that are so far-away, and hard to locate. I'm researching my family history, and this helped me out very much.

Thank-you again!

Sincerely,

Frank J. Daulis

George Sechrist
I've been busy gathering census info for my family the past week, so it was an easy matter to look for Peter and Sarah Sechrist and see if perhaps George was listed in the 1910 census--and he was!

Peter Sechrist 46
Sarah Sechrist 43
William Sechrist 16
David Sechrist 14
Annie Sechrist 10
Nora Sechrist 6
Theodore Sechrist 2
George Sechrist 0
[1/12]

So he was born between Feb 15 and March 15--that is, assuming that the census taker and parents understood the question and did the calculations right. It is odd that his death certificate can't be found--but there have been several in my family that I haven't been able to find, usually very young children...I just assume that the parents decided not to bother, in their time of grief.

Robert David Miller
Your last name
Bill, you're the first person I have ever ask this of but do you have any connection to the Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania area? The reason I ask, is that my Grandfather, my Father and my brother all have the came middle name "Siebert". I have no clue why they were given this name other than the name was a family name of someone in my past. My Grandfather was born in this area about the 1870's, my Father was born in Mount Carmel in 1903 and my brother in 1941. Any ideas on how the Siebert name got into my family? Sincerely, Robert Miller

Beautiful Savior Is My Lord Jesus Christ
Fort Plain Cemetery

Hi Bill,

I did notice that there are grave stone photographs for Walter Heisler and family. It is a huge cemetery dating back to the early or middle 1800s.

Fort Plain cemetery is now listed as being 22 percent photographed which is deceiving because some individuals post photos of the deceased or of their obituaries and fail to change the type of photo on the memorial from grave to person, family or other.

I am hoping I can make it up to Montgomery county, N.Y. next summer and visit the cemeteries and take more photographs. It is difficult because I am disabled and live in CA.

Well take care and happy hunting.

Beautiful Savior Is My Lord Jesus Christ
RE: Benjamin Garlock

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the info. I removed Benjamin O Garlock's mother as his spouse and made her his mother. What a mix up. I've been trying to locate where my great-great grandparents Peter & Polly Hart are buried. So far no such luck, I am thinking they may be buried at Fort Plain cemetery since they lived in Minden their whole lives. I may have to contact the Montgomery Co. History & Archives & have them to search their cemetery records.

Thanks again.

Hello Bill,

Thank you so much for all the tombstone photographs you have taken at Fort Place cemetery. Thank you for adding them to the memorials I have made and sending the updated information. I do appreciate all the time and effort you have put into this project.

The majority of the memorials I have made on Find A Grave of Fort Plain cemetery were taken from the Fort Plain cemetery book. There were no date of births and date of deaths were either the death date or burial date. Not only that, many names were misspelled and names left out. So any help you give me is appreciated.

Looks like maybe father & mother links are mixed up. Am declining since am not positive by reversing them they would be correct people.

RE: James Knapp
This is the reason I leave the death place empty rather than using the last residence reported by SSDI. A person could easily die in a hospital that is not in their home county, for instance, so it isn't safe to assume.

Hey Bill!

Well, I think Florence is actually Frank's elder sister; there is a 1910 Census with her name. I have made that addition, if there is anything else, just let me know!

Thanks!

Hi Bill, Thanks for all the info, this was something with 3 different spellings on the different stones, happens a LOT for different generations of the same family! If you want to manage any of the Maneval & this family, feel free to go to the site and ask! If closer family find them you can always transfer to there care. Luella

Thank you...
...for the gravestone photo and additional information for the Smiths. And especially for letting me know about them!
Since your profile states you are looking for Manevals, I have transferred Sarah and Walter to your care so you may freely add information as you find it.
Here's to teamwork!

RE: Campbell Cemetery, Albany County, NY
Bill,
Just got your message (site has been down for a few days, which has never happened before that I know of).
Thank you for the information on Campbell Cemetery. William Campbell is my ancester (distant cousin) - Been hard to research him with such a common name. He had a son named William, too. I can't locate my documentation for placing him in this cemetery and would appreciate scans of those town records you mentioned - it's likely that other members of his family were buried there, too.

Thanks for taking the photo of Campbell Cemetery a few months ago. Do you know if any tombstones remain? There are 5 memorials created (one of which is my ancestor) but no tombstone photos. It's likely they don't exist anymore, but thought I'd check with you.

I really appreciate what you are doing.

I tried WILDCARD search

like

%Chil
or
*Chil

and FindAGrave interface does not support Wildcard (partial name) search

It is changed to Maneval and I put Chilson was middle name until FG upgrades problem.

Find A Grave will likely some day come up with solution to handle search in case of multiple marriages. I did a new grave the other day where the guy had four wives. Good for him since his last name does not change. But what if it was the other way around!! Yikes. What shall we do.
