RE: Photo Robert Shelley
What an interesting story about your great uncle!! I will be sure to pass it on to our Historical Society.
I will let you know if I find anything else about Mr. Shelley.

You're very welcome. It is useless to show illegible markers, or anyway I think so. Myrtelle didn't want her birth year known, but i looked it up. Many ladies are like that I find when recording nameplates and stones. Can't blame them, and it might be a latent invasion of privacy what we do. Nutty hobby, this. cb

I went back and took another picture of Alma Hollingwhatever's gravestone. :-]
I wet the letters down this time. See if you think it looks any better.

OK, If I get some locations from the cemetery early enough tomorrow I will most surely be going up to the cemetery tomorrow, Monday.

Hi,
Oh, just let me know which ones you want and I will get the pictures for you. I know where Alma is, and I know where Jackie Hollingsworth is. I know where Leona Hollingsworth is. The only one that I don't knew where they are is Lucille Hollingsworth Accuardi. The others have pics already on their pages.
So you got Shelley's in your tree? Me too. They are not blood related but are connected to a far flung branch off of my Haines tree.

Check this one, Ransom Shelley, Find A Grave #= 117491411

From Ransom's page you can go clicking all over the early Oregon Pioneer Shelley family tree. I have done a lot of work on that family.

RE: Photos of Hollingworth
Hello Sharon,
I did some checking to see if there some reason why I put Hollings instead of Holling. I wondered if I wasn't using my head or if something through my off track?
I found that Joseph was not in the State of Oregon death index. He is however in the City of Portland death records. The City of Portland death records preceded State records by quite a large number of years.
Joseph is listed as Hollingsworth in the City records and I guess I just went with that and did not question whether the stone was right or wrong??
I found Wealthy in the State of Oregon death index. I could not find her by her last name, so, I searched for her by her first name. Guess what he name is in the OR death index?
It is Hollingswort. No h on the end of the name. Groan. And it is spelled with the s in it.
Anyway, I see that you are oh so right that is is spelled without the s on the gravestone and I am sure you must know that is right so I changed it, ok?
Now you know "the rest of the story". :-]
Anything else I can help you with?
So you want a picture of Alma's gravestone? I can get that next time I go up there, ok?

I plan to go back and clean a bit more and was a soft brush and cleaner to bring out the letters. There appears to be some type of stone around each grave with the slab laying on top as when I placed the flowers I had to go out away to get them in the ground.
Take care Charles

Glad I could help. Do you have any more buried there? There are several names listed on the cemetery records. Please let me know if you have more.

You are very welcome. Just waiting a bit hoping it might cool down a little. In Nebraska, just wait a day or two. Might snow tomorrow.
