Dear Ruth,
I am so very sorry to read about your Dad.. It is such a sad thing to lose a loved one especially a parent. Were you close?? Bless your heart for trying to answer some questions for your Dad. I went back to the cemetery and walked around a good bit where I was told there was Wilsons at rest, but sadly not the right Wilsons..I will keep looking, and I found a lady who remembers Charles Finkling from grade school. May I ask your fathers name??? Again I am sorry For your loss. If you ever need me..for anything..just write me.

This is what I have found. Do not know if you already have this info or not....Elmer Steinbraker comes up in Ancestry a couple of times 1935 city directory of Bamberg. Newberry Co SC marriage records to Gladys Roberta Fincling 1939. And the 1940 census for Bamberg Co married to Gladys Steinbraker with a 5 yr old stepson Charles Edward Steinbraker. Obit for Charles Edward Fickling, 76, of Orangeburg SC (Passed on January 27, 2011) lists the late James and Gladys Steinbraker Fickling as parents with a brother Aaron Steinbraker. Charles date of birth in obit is July 22, 1934, which means he would have been 5 in April of 1940 for the census.
Southend Cemetery records show:
Gladys W Steinbraker 2-15-1913 11-19-1992
buried with parents
Aaron Losey Wilson 1874 1950
Lilla Smoak w/ Aaron 1880 1969
I went one time to the cemetery to look for the family plot because it shows Gladys is buried with the Wilsons, but was not successful, but will continue to look. Ancestry lists an Elmer Steinbraker having passed in Florida in 1989. I can not say he is the right person. I am pretty sure it is So I think Elmer Steinbraker is in Florida.

Hi Ruth
I got the information from his wife's obit that she was a widow. I cannot prove that he is buried at South End another Contributor sent that information. I have never been to South End.
If you have additional information or if you wouls like a transfer please let me know. I do not always keep the obits.
Wish I could have been of more help.
Ann

RE: Elmer Steinbraker/Gladys Steinbraker
I did not enter the memorial for Elmer(84259222) or Glays(38475949); I only submitted a cemetery photo. Look on the bottom left of the memorial for the person who created the memorial. (Her name is also Ann.)
Directly under Gladys's name are 5 white tabs. Click the EDIT tab. Then click make a suggestion. That should get you in touch with Ann.
