Erceil Sellers
Yes, Erceil was my father, and he was a friend of Murray Combs. I think they were together from induction on. They stayed in touch their entire lives. Would love to share stories as Dad kept a diary, have letters & newspapers, and lots of pics. I, too, am the family historian.

I am related to you through Frances A Welch through her O'Bannon family. Was wondering if you had any information about any of the O'Bannon's in your Uncle's suitcase.

110th-35th Quartermaster
Murray Combs
Thank you so much for a heads up for Mr. Combs. I have added him to my Virtual Cemetery for the 35th Quartermaster. If you are interested I am blogging my father's WWII Story. I found a suitcase of letters which span through their time in WWII. It is my father's story but it is the 35th QM story including the Yoo Hoo incident ( Here is a link to my blog.

Look for the "My Father's Letter's" Category.
I also have over 400 pictures of the 35th QM. If you are interested in viewing them send me an email

Undertaker's Gr/Granddaughter
RE: John and Mary Combs @ Walnut Grove Cemetery
J. C. is the only thing on the marker. Next time I go to the cemetery, I'll stop by the caretakers office and see if he has any information. I did get a picture. :o)

I went to the groundskeeper and John and Mary are buried in Lot 60. I found a foot stone of J. C., next to Anna Scott Coms and Laura Prewitt Combs. Does this help??? :o)

RE: Hey, Cousin
Hey thanks.
I've been meaning to ask you. Your parents said you somehow looked up old address of our ancestors and visited multiple houses & lots where they used to live. Could you tell me where you obtained the addresses from?

Phoebe & Robert Sutton
Thank you for sending me the reminders, for the date of birth info. I had it on my ancestry tree. I just have been researching, other family members I forgot the woman had transfered there memorials to me. I had sent her a message after my husband and I, went to the Sutton Cemetery in Ottawa. We were unable to locate them.

I wanted to take a photo myself of Phoebe/Robert Sutton's headstone.

I did however take photo's of all the other Sutton's that had headstone's. The woman that created there memorials, couldn't give me any info. I also came across some info that they were buried on a family farm in Franklin county, but I don't have a address, I would love to have one.

If you go to the Sutton Cemetery site (Frankin county, Ks.) I have not been able to link any of the Sutton's buried to our Sutton Family Tree yet, really haven't had time. If you get any info. I would appreicate any help. I want to go back to the Sutton cemetery, and take more photo's, because there are a lot of headstones, that have not been recorded on find-a-grave.

RE: Murray and Ella Combs
Hello Matthew,

I have transfered Murray Combs Sr. to you already. But I am going to keep Ella (Sutton) Combs, because she was my husband's great Aunt. Normally if they are not related to myself/husband/family, I transfer, hope you understand.

That means you are related to my husband. His mother's side. Ella (Sutton) Combs was my husband's grandfather's sister. His name was (Perry Sutton). I have been working on the Sutton Family tree, so I am just trying to keep all the together. I have lots of info on the Sutton side if you would like to know about your great grandmother's side. I would love to know which child of Murray/Ella you descend from.

I had fun, earlier this year, trying to find Murray/Ella headstones, they are in the old part of the cemetery, and sections are not marked well at all. I am glad find-a-grave was able to help you find some family, that is so excited to be able to put the bread crumbs together. I hope the info, I have on Ella's memorial will be helpful to you.

I just received a email yesterday, from a relative on the Sutton side that lives in Washington state, and he was just talking about a photo that he has, that Murray/Ella are in it, I believe. When they came to Washington state to visit his grandfather. I haven't gotten to reply to him yet. But I will keep you posted, and would gladly forward the photo to you also, it you would like. If you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in?

Karen Howard.

Geo E Budd again
If you give me your e-mail address, I can send you the census records and the border crossing records I downloaded last night on your George. And would you like me to transfer his memorial to you?

George E. Budd
I was confused to have 2 unrelated George Budds in the same block of graves. The main source for Dr. Budd was a transcribed list that had been copied a couple of times, which I hesitate in using. So I stopped at Musgrove Funeral Home today and looked up his funeral record and there it said he was buried in Rest Haven. So he was never in the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery. But the dates are still accurate. If you are indeed related to him, stop by their office on Danebo and ask them -- they will give you a map to show you where he is! They are a nice bunch of people.
Sorry about the confusion.

George Budd - both
Hi, Matthew,

Thank you for your information. Unfortunately I think we have two different George Budds than those in your family.
My sources are funeral records from the local mortuaries, obituaries, the Oregon Death Index, and the SUVCW graves registration -- the latter, at, shows your Geo. E. Budd who was in the Wisconsin Cav. is buried in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, WI. So, I am sure about the dates we have for our Georges, and they don't sound like they fit your dates. And it looks like no one has created a memorial page for him on Find-a-Grave, yet. Perhaps you could do that?

But welcome to Eugene, and enjoy the visit to the cemetery. It is right next door to the U of O library, called Knight Library, which houses microfilms of all the newspapers from Oregon. That is where I find most of the obituaries I post. Both our George Budds are in unmarked graves, which means either the markers were of wood and have rotted away, or made of stone and were carried away by who-knows-who, or they never had one -- probably the family couldn't afford it or it was contrary to their religious practice. Our Dr. George E. Budd was a dentist and a Christian Science practioner.

Sincerely, Dorothy Brandner, Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Assoc.
