RE: Jack Allen
I don't think I am kin. My Allens were mostly in the Crawford County, AR area and the Long, Sequoyah, Oklahoma area.

I'm taking time tonight to appreciate the work of my many cousins & must thank you for the photos you have added. I don't know if you can tell from my baby photo; but I have no resemblance to any family but the Bennetts, as did my grandfather & his dear mother, Laura Brandon Williams - her mother was Ann Catherine Bennett Brandon. I was raised in Fulton, in my grandfather's home, & knew so many of his cousins. Really, all the men resembled one another. Benjamin Bennett looks like every one of them. And they do not, definitely do not, resemble the Holts. I know them, too.

I've never told you how cousin Carolyn Caine found me on the Internet in 1991, when we all had to operate in DOS as Windows had not yet come out. She descends from Willis D. Bennett, then Emma, then Gertrude Baysinger. We became good friends. When I retired I moved from Missouri to Gig Harbor where Carolyn lived. She was dying of a spinal defect that caused severe pain. She died when she was 55 & I had been there 4 years. She was very bright & very brave.

There are so many of us - we who built the Internet record. All obviously loyal & will be until the end. I will always wonder if our Holt grandmother Elizabeth Brooks Holt, Susan Bennett's mother, did not sit down and cry when she finally arrived upon the land In Callaway county which they had coveted, taken, then essentially walked to from Virginia. Could they have known how steadfast would be our love?

David Turney
turney family in Alabama
Came across your entry on findagrave. The picture of Anna Morris Turney you have with her children in front. The boy on the left side is almost a spitting image of my father when he was about that age. My father is Henry Earl Turney. He was born in Alabama. We are part of the group that migrated to Alabama in the 1820's from the original group from Tennessee. My name is David Earl Turney and I have two sisters Deborah Lynn, and Pamela Denise. I am 61 and have two sons Christopher and Patrick. I'm on as davidturney163. Give me a shout when you want. I can fill you in on the bunch out of Alabama.

His son? Kirk is also there and shares the same marker so we added him, too. How awesome to be able to find out the multiple ways our families contributed to America; hope your search continues along successful trails!

RE: Gertrude Turney Tune

You're very welcome. I enjoyed looking at the photos you added for Gertrude's father, especially the one where it looks like he's out on the range. Those old photos are like buried treasure!

I do not have any of the Turney family other than where Gertrude is buried, but do have a few of her husband & his parents & family. If you want copies of those, I'm happy to send them, just let me know.

Otherwise I haven't documented the Turney family other than Gertrude.

Happy hunting,

I just ran across your name again and wanted to say I'm very impressed with the work you've done
with the memorials you've had transferred to you.
The pictures and data you've added makes the
people come alive again. If those ancestors are looking down at the memorials I'm sure they thank you for your work.

Oh, yes, I forgot. My family and my husbands are distantly related to the Wrights in Calwood. My husband was born and raised in Calwood and me in Fulton.
Did your mother go to Fulton High School and what years? Marsha

Tricia :)

You are most welcome for the transfers ;) Dixie Vaughn is not my grandmother, but Dixie's daughter Dorothy would have been a great-aunt of mine. She was married to my great-uncle Junior Sublett. I never did meet her though since she passed away before I was born I believe. Dixie had 3 daughters: Dorothy, Opal, and Velma. I know Opal from church. She and her husband Raymond are almost like family to me :)Is your grandmother related to the Vaughns?

Courtney :)
