Leavitt Family in Chatham
Carol, hello!

You took some wonderful photos for me of Eveline Tyler Guilford Leavitt and Joseph Leavitt in the Chatham Cemetery.

Just wondering - do you live in Chatham? I was curious if they still keep town records there. I've never been able to find death records for either of these relatives, nor the birth record for their daughter - and I know sometimes in New Hampshire the records are still only with the town.

Do you, if you live there, know someone I can contact, to do some research for me?

Death of Eveline Tyler (Guilford) Leavitt 25 Aug 1850
Birth of Joseph Leavitt, son of John Appleton Leavitt and Dorcas Chandler - 22 Sep 1825
Death of Joseph Leavitt, same as above - 11 Apr 1851
Birth of Eveline Guilford Leavitt - abt Apr 1850

Carol - you may need/want to edit this Memorial for its photo content. I went back today to fulfill your photo request and found my claim had expired and another volunteer has claimed it. So you may get a plethora of photos from which to choose. I added my photos via the Memorial page and also added Thomas'wife even though there was not a request for her grave photo. Thanks - BW

Hi, Carol.
Just wondering if you saw my previous reply...? I canceled my claims to the photo requests six days ago, but I noticed you still haven't claimed them or posted the photos you said you'd taken.

Chandler - Eveline Guilford

What a WONDERFUL photo this is of Eveline Guilford Leavitt's final resting place! Thank you SO much for taking your time and providing such a lovely high-resolution photo.

My heart aches at the life of this beautiful young mother - and I'm delighted that you've been so very kind.

Warm regards, and many, many, many thanks -

Hi, Carol.
I see you are new to FindAGrave, and I appreciate you coming forward and letting me know ahead-of-time. I will go ahead and cancel my claims so that you can claim them and post the photos. Again, thanks for letting me know beforehand and not posting the pictures already. In the future, I'm sure you'll know to claim any photo requests prior to taking the pictures. They give you up to 14 days to take the photos once you've claimed them.
Best wishes, and I hope you enjoy FindAGrave as much as I have! :-)

RE: Houlton/Woodstock, NB
Hi Carol - we're about 2 hours south of Houlton. I know there have been a couple people fulfilling requests in the Houlton and in the Woodstock area - well at least last year. I see there's a few requests accumulating in the Woodstock area at present. I would recommend to put in your photo requests. Patti & I will be back in that area at least a couple of times over the summer as I'm tracking down relations in various cemeteries in the Woodstock-Fredericton stretch (I'm just not sure of our schedule at the moment).

Hi,Carol, Thanks so very much for taking the pictures of their graves for me. I know everyone is busy and time is limited, so this truly means a lot to me. May I ask you if you could go back out and rotate the photos, right now they are sideways and difficult to read. Again,I appreciate your time and effort to help honor these two old soldiers! Blessings, Susan
