Thanks so much for the photo. My name is also Aylsie and the family always argued about the spelling. I also found the name on a draft registration for her husband. This is another proof. Thanks so much!

Its funny that, as often as I visit Maple Grove, I still find that I am missing some memorial. Thanks for you help in adding another piece to our puzzle.

|Bone Diggin||Alvaretta Belle Rowland|
I was wondering if you can transfer Alvaretta Belle Rowland #117599202 Memorial to me. She is my great great aunt and she is my great grandpa sister. I would love to maintain it.
Thanks in advance.

|Joyce||RE: Wray & Sise Photos|
I too have had some problems getting good photos. I have found that I get the best photos when the sun is shining on the stone. The best time of day depends on the direction the stone is facing.
Thanks again for taking these photos and for allowing the use of them!!

Thanks so much for the Wray and Sise photos. I appreciate you taking the time to locate and photograph these headstones for me.
Would it be ok to use these photos on ancestry.com?

|Tina (Ford) Phillips||Myrtle M Stewart|
Are you related to Myrtle Stewart Memorial number 113211824.
I am looking for Myrtle Mae Yarham. She was married to George Melvin Button and then to Thomas Nicholas Stewart. The dates match put I want to make sure it is my husbands relative before I add this memorial to my ancestry tree.

|Dorothy Cox-Woodruff||RE: Bertress Cox|
I know there are two memorials for my great uncle Bertress E. Cox. I have written to the one that made the memorial #79100839 for Bert E. Cox to let them know that it was a duplicate memorial. I also wrote to the one that posted the tombstone photo to see if they would added it to the Bertress E. Cox memorial #9923577. I have also asked for a change to his name to include his nickname Bert.
I am the one that made memorial #9923577 back in 2004, the other one was made in 2011.

|Kenneth Watts||Duvall & Olive Watts Gravesites, Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS|
Julie, My brother Leonard Watts, my cousins, Jimmy and Billy Watts and I (Kenny Watts) are all great grandsons of Duvall M Watts and his wife Olive who were residents of Fort Scott, KS from approximately 1905 until their deaths in 1934 and 1921 respectively. Duvall and Olive are both buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott. On 4 & 5 December 2014, the four of us and our spouses visited Fort Scott to see where our great grandparents lived, where our grandfather was raised and married our grandmother, and where our fathers were born. Via Ancestry.com and Find A Grave (and your photo) we knew Duvall and Olive Watts were buried in Evergreen Cemetery but we had no idea exactly where the graves were located. The cemetery office was not staffed so we had little hope of finding the graves among the 10’s of thousands of graves there. While dining at Crooner’s Restaurant the evening of 4 December, we were explaining to our host, Jared, why we were visiting Fort Scott and our disappointment that we were unable to locate Duval and Olive Watts’s graves. I told him we had a picture of the headstones and he immediately said his mother had taken and posted the pictures on the Find A Grave website (What a small world). He called you and, based on your information, relayed the exact section and row of the graves to us. The next morning we returned to Evergreen Cemetery and walked directly to the grave site.
We had a wonderful stay in Fort Scott, including the Candlelight Walk at the Fort Scott National Part on the evening of 5 December. And thanks to you and Jared, we were able to locate our great grandparent’s final resting place. Thank you for taking time and effort to photograph and catalog all the grave sites and I hope your efforts are as helpful to all other families retracing their Fort Scott family roots as they were to us.
